I posted a recipe on chicken pot pie. What is your favorite crust for a chicken potpie? Biscuit, crispy thin, crescent rolls, pie crust, puff pastry, or something else.

Well, I always use a really simple biscuit recipe of 2 cups flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 7 tablespoons unsalted butter, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar, and 3/4 cups whole milk and it always comes out great, much better than any canned version. I'm not a big fan of buttermilk, so I try to stay away from it.

    potato!

Don't laugh - I make Potato shells (mashed then baked) for toppers...

    They are yummers.

Too interesting! How do you make potato shells?

I have heard of potato with an egg, milk and cheese on top of it.

Why would your put an egg on top of a potato head!?! Are you making potato salad?

No you make mashed potatoes and add an egg anc cheese. It makes it set some how. Hubby hates anything that comes out of a chicken butt so I can not do that here any more. And yes i do own chickens. He says that is just plain nasty to eat something that came from that part of a chicken.

      POTATO CRUST FOR MEAT PIE

      Sift together:

      1/2 tsp. salt
      2 tbsp. baking powder

      Cut in:

      8 tbsp. shortening
      1 c. cold mashed potatoes

Add enough milk to make an easily handled dough. Roll out on floured surface.

Have meat pie filling bubbling when crust is placed over it. Put a few gashes in top of crust. Bake 15 minutes in hot oven, 375 to 400 degrees.

Well, I would've believed your recipe was good, but it's against my religion to eat anything cooked by an Auburn fan.
