What is your favorite fall activity?
I like taking pictures of the changing leaves and cooking hearty foods.

Fall is the most beautiful time of the year here. Abundant sunshine, comfortable temps, lots of wildflowers. I spend a lot of time outdoors, walking in beautiful places-in the woods, the gorges, along the creeks, listening to the splashing of the waterfalls.

Like a few others, seasons barely exist in south Florida. But I'm from the Northeast, so it used to be jumping in piles of leaves... until I grew up enough to know that meant I had to rake them first and again after the pile jumping. During college, it was always fun to go down to all the wineries on the Finger Lakes during that time of year.

We go pick pumpkins with the children and find our way through corn mazes.
Here in the Midwest, local farms build giant climbing structures out of hay bales, build boxes to hold dry corn just like a sandbox would (and let the kids play in them), and cut intricate mazes into their fields of dried corn. Our local winery sponsors a scarecrow making competition, too.
Fall is one of my favorite times of year, and fall activities are festive and fun. Thanks for the thread, Amy!-

You would love the scarecrows at this winery. They have Elvis and a large moving robot made entirely of tin cans. There is a Hillary Clinton scarecrow, clowns and zombies. There is a tennis player and an old woman. They all move in the wind, and the effect, even in daylight is quite chilling.

Fortunately, I live in a condominium and someone else takes care of shoveling the snow, so I'm free to hibernate all winter. I've been busy stealing nuts from squirrels in preparation.
A box of cheer? Absolutely! I didn't know they sold that in boxes now. Oh, wait. Were you talking about Cheer, the laundry detergent, not cheer as in cheerfulness? If so, would you mind bringing the Cheer in person and doing my laundry while you're here? Just asking.
