When growing up we did alot of road trips. My mother would pack food so we would not have to stop except major meals. My favorite food she use to take along is Pringles. What is yours?

If I could pack the food I have in the North East of Thailand, I would sure do it www.farangrakthai.com/frt/isaan+food.aspx

We figured the journey goes faster without sweets, More for long 5 hour drives than road trips. Because youre anticipating the next sweet

    wine gums and werthers original.

Potato salad -preferably eaten off a paper plate by the side of the road over looking some river or canyon. But you gotta have a cooler or you will be in trouble! Mayo is not a happy traveller on a hot day.

i read somewhere that the mayo thing was not the major problem any more because of the vinegar and the use of oils instead of eggs in it. I still keep mine on ice but thought that was intresting.

I make chicken salad sammiches and fruit salad for car trips. WE keep a cooler in the car so we can just pull over in any park and eat.

my parents tortured us with deviled ham sammiches, fruit cups, snack pac puddings (remember the metal cans? if you do...you're old like me), archway cookies, and tiny cans of juice.
Now that I think about it, the food on road trips was way better than my mother's everyday kitchen disasters. Except the devilded ham. Her recipe was: open can of Underwood Deviled Ham, add Miracle Whip, watch Tia gag it down.
