Was more comedy than horror but I really like Constantine.
The Cube series is good too. Final Destination 1 was scary. The rest in the series were crap.
  2. chrissymarie321
I am not so keen on horror, I confess that I hide behind my hand and peep through my fingers even when I am watching the Omen and Jack Nicholson terrifies me in the Shining!
I quite like thrillers though, all time favourite probably has to be Silence of the Lambs.
  3. Dukepro25
    Grudge - SUCKS!!!

    Crap lol

    American Haunting is crap too.

Exorcism of Emily Rose isn't that great either.
  4. SweetViolet
I don't like the horror genre at all, and most suspense movies are more boring than suspenseful to me.

I like crime dramas, action movies (Bruce Willis and Arnie movies are my dirty little secrets), fantasy stuff like Harry Potter, romcoms, and historicals (provided they aren't turgid).

I won't watch horror movies and have been bored by so many "suspense" movies that I try to avoid them now.

I really like horror, always dragging my man to the cinema to see another one!! Thought Hostel was bad. Just went to see Mirrors, that was good, although bit disappointed with the ending. The Saw films are good but as with most series' of films the earlier ones were better, when you weren't sure what was going on!
I like old Horror/Suspense too, like Duel!!
  6. JaydenVasara
i can't watch horror (i always run out of the theaters) but i love suspense/thrillers. "wait until dark" with audrey hepburn is one of my all-time favorites.

Probably overall I'd say it was the original Alien. Always loved that film. Got back into it a bit when the releases came out showing the "deleted scenes" of Tom Skerrit cocooned in the alien's chamber - and Harry Dean Stanton morphing into some sort of egg like contraption. This of course was the basis for James Cameron's direction the sequel (Aliens - which Thriftshop can tell you all about)moved into.

    Some other good ones:

-Audition (though not true "horror" per say..I just have a crush on the freak chick even if she feeds vomit to people). The Japanese are masters of horror in my opinion.

-The Thing (posted about it here): www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/the-thing
though apparently nobody else was interested.
    1. MidwestMom
Kdawg... The Thing was a great movie. Do you mean the original or the Kurt Russell remake?
    2. kdawg68
I prefer the Kurt Russell remake - partly because I think J. Carpenter did a brilliant job with the script. It's usually glossed over as a box office failure, border-line b-movie, but there is genius there if you look hard enough.

(note: if you like that version -then click on the discussion link in my above comment and be sure and check out Rob Ager's youtube analysis - the guy is SPOT ON with his analysis)

      Yes! Totally!

Let me see here the worst horror movie I saw was probably this trash called Feast.

My favorites are Pet Sematary, IT, Silence of the Lambs (not horror but suspense), The Howling, Aliens and the Omen.

Bottom line they just don't do horror like they used to.
Oh and Rosemary's Baby that was a good one.

How about Horror Comedy like Fright Night!!!

Edit Texas Chainsaw Massacre -original one!

    The Sixth Sense
    1. Dukepro25
      A classic!

      Gotta love the Sixth Sense.
  12. cranelegs
abbott and costella meet frankenstein, the best.
invasion of the saucer men, the worst (worse than plan nine from outer space; set women back probably 134 years)
  13. Guzzo
Most Favorite: When it first came out, truly scary.. The Exorcist.

    Least Favorite: Anything with Chucky.
  14. MidwestMom
Play Misty for Me (minus the music sequences with Clint Eastwood and love interest frolicing in the sunshine) was *very* creepy. It was Fatal Attraction before Fatal Attraction.

I first saw it alone at night-time. My dad called me in the middle of it, and my phone ringer was on "loud". I nearly jumped out of my skin.
  15. LGramlich
Least favorite; The Blob. The original Blob.
    1. MidwestMom
Look out for the Grape Jelly from Space!

AAAAAAHHHH (runs in super slow motion...)
  16. lotusb
I don't know if "favorite" is the right word...but it SURE was creepy. I actually suffered a panic attack during the movie. It's called High Tension, it's a French film and it's VERY graphic.

The Others and Teh Sixth Sense are my faves. I loathe Saw (all 5 Saws)
    1. Dukepro25
      Nice picks.
  19. thefly
Oh man, there are so many. Too many people think these new horror movies are classic horror when in reality they are just crap and rehashes.

You have to go back to the original low budget twisted horror. I like to think of myself as a connesieur of horror films.

    My favs:

    The Exorcist
    Halloween
    Poltergeist
    Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)
Nightmare on Elm Street (1,3,4,and 5)
Night of the Living Dead (original)

    More recent superb films:

    28 days later
    28 weeks later
    Dawn of the Dead
    Se7en

and Quarentine which is in the theatres now and I loved it.

    buzz buzz

is that the one where he is haunted by the girl??? don't want to give away the plot and ending, if so it was very good I liked it
    2. Dukepro25
      That was just ok.

I liked it, but I didn't think it was great.
  24. LynneaUrania
Of course it may not be true horror/suspense, but I did enjoy Rocky Horror.

  25. kat822

  26. earthlingorgeous
They are not actually horror per se but I have compiled my favorite movies with vampires in it here: earthlyexplorations.blogspot.com/2008/10/bite-is-all-it-takes.html
  27. IbneAdam
All movies with Shah Rukh Khan.
    Nightmare on elm street.
    Jeeper creeper.

Someone above mentioned "Night of living dead". I think that is a comedy movie (it was a horror movie for its time. But with so much seen and advancement of technology, that seems to be a comedy movie)
  28. dosox
Tom & Jerry... & nothing else

i have watched The Ring and I swore never to watch the same thing again but i just watched Dark Water just last week! XD
    1. Dukepro25
Dark Water is a good one.
