I played the trumpet for 6 years. My favorite is the guitar.

That's cool! I played piano only for 2 years ( a long time ago).
Now, I do not play any instrument but would love to learn cello.

    The human voice.

To play? My djembe, a GREAT stress reliever. Once the surgery for the bone spurs in my shoulder's over & I'm all healed up, I've GOT to get back to my drum(s.)

piano, definitely - cello's a very close second. they both have such an amazing ability to play a huge range of dynamics and emotions

My favorite instruments to hear are the dulcimer and violin.

The dulcimer is a *great* instrument. (Under-appreciated, in my opinion.)

I Can Play Flute, Guitar And Piano.

Music Is Religion, No Doubt, But There Is An Essential Serenity In The Music Of Flute.
    1. angelshair
I feel that too, when flute is played in solo...

I play numerous instruments, as well; drums (various kinds, inc. kits,) recorder, guitar, piano (although I'm rusty.)

      @LGramich
I see what you mean when you talk about Djembe. Like many drums, it directly speaks to something very basic in me: my heartbeat.
    4. LGramlich
Agreed, angelshair. I'd actually started selling off all of my percussion instruments (including a 2nd, larger djembe,) when my first (inept) doctor told me there was "nothing they could do" about my shoulder. I'm glad I kept my last djembe, though!
    5. angelshair
I am really sorry about that, and a hope your operation will go well and that you will find back the pleasure of playing djembe after.

My voice.. I play a lot of instruments, guitar, piano, drums, whistle.
But I sing the most. You don't have to pick it up or tune it, and there's no work required I sing at a lot of open mic's yet i usually do it unaccompanied by instruments, as I prefer the sound of singing on it's own.

    Guitar. Let's rock!

I saw this dude in Cirque du Soleil whistle a 10 minute solo. It was so awesome!
  19. legbamel
    To play: the piano.
    To hear: the trumpet.

I do like guitars and many percussion instruments, as well as other horns (that includes saxophones), and I'm a sucker for big band music so I'm obviously not that picky.
