   By far, I write most about my adventures with my nine year old son. It's to the point where something will happen, my wife will look at me and say, "This is going in the blog, isn't it?"

      Every time I see something interesting in the areas I write about, I make a note and pop it into the "Potential Blog Material" file. Even at 3 AM.

   My favourite centuries are the 17th, 18th and 19th. So I am happy to _read_ about art, architecture, social history, religious history, clothing, literature, jewellery and food from that period.
   
   Most of my own _writing_ tends to be about the arts: paintings, architecture, porcelain, gold and silver. I know more about Europe and Australasia than anywhere else, but I would also love to write about the Middle East and North Africa.

    I love reading, learning and thus writing about technological acceleration and what it means to us. The exponential rate of that acceleration and the fact that the acceleration it's self is exponential is so interesting to me, that I cant stop pondering over the possibilities. The types of discoveries, technologies, and changes that are going to happen in the next fifty to one hundred years are going to be massive in their numbers and in their effects on the human race. "...we won't experience 100 years of progress in the 21st century -- it will be more like 20,000 years of progress. (at today's rate)" -Ray Kurzweil, 'The Singularity is Near'.
    This has sort of been an underlining theme to my blog.
