Discussions

Why are there so many threads asking for Filipino bloggers? I'm not making any particular point, I've just noticed loads of these kind of threads about, why is it so significant that only Filipinos enter into discussions?

I'm only asking because Americans/Aussies and the Brits haven't had threads such as this.

I think they think they are the minority here and they're trying to find themselves.
In my first day in BC, i thought that BC was made by a Filipino company

Ah, so I'm not the only one to have noticed then, phew
Yeah it does seem like there are more of them than other nationalities but maybe that's because they're just more vocal about where they come from.

It's in the Filipino culture where Filipino wants to gather especially in a foreign country.

    @sisterofmercy
And yes your right about that and I notice it too, same way I notice same discussion with different titles.

That's great and all, am glad some people are still patriotic about where they come from, but why does it matter where people are in the world? We're all the same anyway, surely blogs should not be restricted to a particular nation.

Thank you sisterM that you notice about how Filipino enjoy having to get together. You have to see how we gathered in any party...Chibugan na!

filipinos have got some affinity with each other... specially overseas we tend to find other filipinos as well, form ourselves into a group, sometimes it is abroad where we make the best friendships.. it is the same thing with the blogosphere.. in our language we have a slogan "Tangkilikin ang sariling atin" which roughly means: "support your/our own...(countrymen, products..whatever filipino thing)".

I came from a Godforsaken third world, polluted and over populated country Philippines - with a VERY CORRUPT government.

But there are still some things about Filipinos that is worth to be proud(and envy) of.

Did you know that we don't send our parents to a home care for the elderly when they grow old. They stay with us until their time comes. We Filipino can't stand to just abandon them. Besides, they took care of us when we were little kids, why can’t we do it to them when they’re too old to take care of themselves? Filipino have a have strong relations with their families.

When you get old(very old) and your grown up children can't have time to even visit you. And you need a health care, choose a filipino. Then you'll know how to love a stranger.

Even after finishing school, Filipino children are not obliged to get out of their homes unless they want to. In fact, most of them keep their close relationship to their parents by staying at least before they get married. Leaving them happens only when they really have to, but usually, at least one child, depending on his willingness and financial capabilities, stay even after marriage to support and look after their aging parents.

We, Filipinos are naturally happy people. No matter what problems we may be facing, we usually have a sunny disposition.

Women are easily attracted by looks or the outward appearance of a man. Well, Filipino guys are not as handsome as other races but they can attract women through their good traits. Despite their outward appearance, women are drawn to them. Most ladies are turned off to handsome guys who don't know how to treat a woman.

Most Filipino guys are very caring to women. They do not let them carry heavy loads. They don't want to see women do heavy works that men usually do like splitting wood, carrying heavy boxes, transporting heavy things, etc. Cooking, washing, cleaning and caring for the kids are the woman's main work but still the men help them in doing these.

It is often said that if there is a people living in the times of the Spirit, it is the Filipinos. Not everyone would agree with this, but surely one of the signs of our time is the Filipino people’s quest for Spirituality.

So true. So even if there are things to be ashamed about, there are so many things to be proud of.
    2. aeonkykyro
Gosh! man..you have said it all, No matter how others look at us, being a Filipino is something to be proud of.

And by the way, Filipino are survivors, can adapt to any culture and make friends.

I'm a Filipino and I don't understand it either lol. I guess most are vocal about it and of course, they want to make friends! It's in our tradition to be very approaching and accommodating to foreigners and countrymen alike. We always love to stick together.

hi visit my group FILIPINO BLOGGERS!!!!!!!!

Filipino bloggers are everywhere..Definitely there are lots of Filipinos and most of them are sociable. Philippines ranked number 12 in terms of population so what do you expect?
  14. Funkkeejooce
I am from the Philippines but I don't seek any particular groups nor Filipinos. It doesn't make me less proud or patriotic of my heritage. I seek communities where I feel comfortable in and I do love diversities and other ways of thinking different from mine. Filipinos are social and fun-loving and most of the time, stick to their own. It don't necessarily mean they will not welcome you if ever you attempted to join their community.

Just have a look at the activity of a certain Filipino blogger John Phillips Bengero - Jepoy - the one who no doubt incited "the community" to side with his contemptuous, corrupt ways.
What did he say? That this was an attack on "All Filipinos" - in which case he is distorting the truth.
It is purely about a minority - not everyone.
However - why is defensiveness such an issue?
Why does it clump you all together?
Have you got no individual ethics?

He is showing the Filipino in an extrememly bad light.

Check this out first - carefully.

Please remember - this is not about the girl - but a whole organisation - a real estate company who were endorsing this scam attempt - and Jepoy is doing the same.
