Having a full time job, a 2 year old son, and a very minimal social life leaves me almost no time to blog each day.
I know many of you have even more on your plates and still find time to write up posts so my question to you is:
When do you find the time to blog?

I'm in the same boat as you. Very demanding full time job plus a long commute (1 hour each way), lots of travel across the country, and raising a 3 year old.
Short answer? I don't get much time to blog during the week, and tend to do the bulk of it over the weekends. Luckily for me the big horse races are usually on weekends. Monday's I'll do a wrap-up type thing (really late Sunday night), and then maybe once or twice throughout the week I"ll post something else, which is usually just whatever flows off my head supported by youtube videos to back up what I"m saying.
It's tough, but it's a labor of love. I guess having mild OCD finally helps for once in my life.

Sometimes I have to fight tooth and nail to find the time I need and want to blog. Other days, it just seems to be easy. Typically I get started after 7 at night, although some days I can get some of it done during the day. Sometimes I break it up by finding the material I need during the day, and then getting down to business after Punky goes to bed sans the extra work of digging up sources.
If my husband is out, or at work I have a much easier time blogging. If he's at home....well lets just say after punky goes to bed we hold a dirty rotten no holds barred race to the computer LOL. -

It's getting to be more of a problem for me, since I just picked up two rather weighty consulting contracts that are threatening to consume me and leave me little time for anything else. I'm afraid I misjudged how much of my time they would take, and I fear my blogging volume and frequency, which already has diminished in recent weeks, will decline even more. Boo hoo, I was really spoiled over the past 6 mos or so by having lots of relatively free time. Now I'm all jammed up.(Can't even spend as much time here on BC as I would like...)

I married a work-a-holic who loves for me to stay home and not work and have 3 teenagers with lives of their own.
So I have all the time in the world to blog, aren't you all so lucky?!

I teach developmental writing and English composition full-time. My students come from all over the world, so most speak Englsih as a second language. I "love" my work and I "love" my students, but it does become overwhelming sometimes. Then, I get home to my family and I have to review homework, drive children around and attend school sporting events. It may sound like I don't but I do "love" this too. No matter how hectic it gets, I am always having fun with it. Therefore I find myself writing mostly in the evenings-late evenings. Yes, I do not sleep much, but neither does Donad Trump and it seems to have worked for him.:)
I made a conscious decision to write/blog only when I feel that I have something worthy to say and interesting for folks to read. If I am not inspired, then I refuse to "just write." I want "love" everything I do as much as I can while I am on this earth. If I feel it is something I "have to do" then it is no longer pleasant and becomes a chore or task. NO No No Not what I want. -
I am working in a pharmaceutical company, there are not very much work to do, so i have some time to write my blog www.handingchao.com, and i write it in weekend. You know i treat my blog as my life, so i care about it very much.

I have a web partner. She and I have a part-time web design business. We also have a full-time 9-to-5 job. It's not easy - but we do manage. We tag team when one of us is away on vacation. We also enlisted the help of our spouses/partner. This is our first blog (launched in Dec 2007):
www.urbanswirl.com
We have 2 more blogs that we will be launching in March/April.
What we will be doing is having each feed off of each other so that one post will directly link to our other blog.
Yes - busy busy busy! -
I find it very difficult as it does not only involve writing your post & publishing; but a lot of other activities too.
With the regular studies, homeworks, tests and other things, finding time is difficult. As exams are round the corner, I am not even able to think properly; forget about coming up with a good post to publish

Finding time to blog is not easy for me. I have three children, 2 of which are home-schooled and one is a toddler. I have far to many responsibilities and yet I still have to find time to blog. Right now I am working on a joint blog project and haven't actually had much time to blog if that makes any sense. I am working on creating a multi-authored blog for women.
I usually just fit blogging in where I can.
What's funny is that I think I "think in blog" much more than I actually post. I think about articles all day but rarely get to write about them.

i have a photoblog. so it is not always possible to add new photos since i shoot films, not using a digicam. and when the time's up, i do it between my fulltime job, at the office, when i find time (and don't feel guilty). so it makes my blog a little bit monotonous but... i am always trying to make some little changes: like adding links, videos, etc.

I use a voice recorder. When I worked, I had a 3 hour round trip commute, and I would *talk* out ideas for posts and articles. It helps remind me of ideas I might have forgotten during the day. It's better than 4-5 pieces of paper in my purse. This also has the added advantage of allowing the ideas to stew until I got to them. The benefit was I usually could write the whole post right away, barring any necessary research.

Hi Nine,
I usually blog a week or so in advance of publishing. When I feel inspired to begin a post, I do the research that's usually required, then write the post, and set it up to self-publish on a specific date.
It makes it a little easier because I don't feel pressured to get something out there now. I normally work on posts a couple of hours on the weekend, and a couple of hours in the evening during the week. -
As an at-home mom, I thought I would have plenty of time for blogging, but I care so much about quality that it takes me three days to write an article between research, changing diapers, and generally experiencing things so I can blog about them. I try for a mix of high content and light articles.
I've realized there are times of day when I am more and less productive. The meaty writing happens when I can arrange my morning for a couple un-interrupted hours. The quick, fluffy stuff is entertainment for me in the afternoon while supervising the kids in the backyard. Pictures happen at dinner, as I am finishing up another creation, then get added in later or the next day. And "working it" by posting to blog carnivals etc works well as a nighttime activity before bed. Hubby sits in bed next to me and works on his own laptop, so it counts as quality time. I am a lucky girl, indeed!
But it's a difficult pace to keep up, for sure. I can find 15-20 hours one week, but the next week I have to make up for it by cleaning, shopping, paying bills, and going out with friends.
I'm still getting my groove. It's nice to know I'm in good company.
