Whether you are Al Gore, Pat Robertson, an astronomer, astrologer, or that crazy guy from Iran, you think the world just might be coming to an end. Maybe we're killing ourselves by destroying the environment, maybe God is coming to wrap things up, maybe the Islamic caliphate will strike a deadly blow against the west, or maybe as we enter the galactic plane in 2012 the Earth will be destroyed by an asteroid or from deadly cosmic radiation. The Mayans predicted December 21st, 2012, as the end of time.

Well it will happen, just not in the way people think it will happen. They will try to chip everyone with RFID chips to have control. Although there is one little mystery that has been hidden from the hearts and minds of humans. That "mystery" will rock the socks off of everyone. Nobody will expect it.

I'm actually looking forward to it. I think I'll probably be one of those people with a lawnchair out on the front lawn watching it all go down. Besides--I've heard that the astrological alignment that's due for dec. 21, 2012 will be like crossing the "equator" of the galaxy... What happens when you cross the equator of the earth? Not much changes, except the water runs down the drain in the opposite direction.
But then, who knows, that might make all the difference. -
By the way, When I wrote "it will happen" I was not referring to the "destruction" of this earth. It is suppose to "look" or to get us to think this way. What is meant to happen is all in the scriptures and I am not only referring to the bible.
Although I guess a person would need to read some scripture to maybe get a glimpse of what is meant to happen. The deception has to take place first. Each person will be tested. -
12/21/2012 is also Solar Max - the most intense amount of solar activity in half a century.
It's pretty strange to have secularists, environmentalists, new agers, Christians, Jews, even Muslims, all marking the signs...
The Great Deception....perhaps benign alien beings from another world to tell us how great everything would be if we just give up religion and follow them...

Thats right, everything "lasts" or "lives" forever, The point people miss is that the children of light will live in their own kingdom, Although the children of darkness will also have their own kingdom. Each kingdom with a King. Many religions call this heaven and hell, although their perception is way off, the "concept" is correct.

Yes, the matter in the universe may not go anywhere for quite a while. But for us residents of the universe, our opinion on mortality doesn't change knowing that even if the planet is blown to smithereens the residual molecules of our human forms will find new purpose as star fuel or comet dust.
Our lives are still our lives. Live 'em if you got 'em. Oh, and prepare for what comes next. -
Ive always had the idea that the earth is just a molecule with an electron around it (the moon) and all the other planets/stars are other molecules and we just make up part of a much bigger life form on its own planet with a moon...... -
I find this interesting, so many different thoughts. I have found whatever the world and religion has taught, They have taught to deceive the public. Most of the idea's regarding the "end" people have the book of revelation in the back of there mind. Most of what is in revelation is not even consistent with what the prophets and Paul said.
Anyway, kind of fun discussion. -
The end of time? There's no such a thing!-
The "end" refers to The end of the children of light and darkness living together. The harvest will arrive and the children of the light and darkness will be separated. Everyone will be tested to see which place they will reside. In this world we have the bad and good. The only way the wicked ones can get subjects is to deceive and control people. They use fear, guilt, shame and deeply ingrained dogma from religion and culture's.

2012, as I have always understood it, was not the end of Time, but the end of "civilization" as we know it...the end of empires, the downfall of humanity, and the begining of a new chapter for the world as a whole. Apocalyptic, yes, but it is all cyclical and we are a very small part of the cycle of the "universe"...

I have a grandmother-in-law who is very religious and strongly believes in the coming of the rapture and the coming of the anti-christ. I admit, I am a cynic when it comes to religion and the corresponding texts, but I am always open to listening to other people's views. So, one day, we are visiting my grandmother-in-law and she begins talking about the rapture. And I almost fall off my chair when she reveals that she thinks that George Bush is the anti-christ and starts listing off how he fits if you look at the bible. It was one of the best things I have heard in a while.
p.s. I am definitely not a Bush fan (in case you were wondering).-
There have been many candidates, and there will be many more. Many think the antichrist would be charismatic, would favor a one-world government (like giving the U.N. greater or total control), would encourage things like increased government socialism and government control over your life, increased abortions, relaxation of moral standards, etc. Afterall, it's the antichrist, not just any old tyrant.
Others think the antichrist won't take centerstage politically, but rather work in other ways.
Some have fingered Maitreya.
Then there is the guy from Growing in Grace church who claims to be the antichrist in Florida.

Very correct Dota, Paul talks about the "Man of Lawlessness" taking from the prophet Daniel. The wicked one will come in the flesh with great power to deceive and be Anointed as King of His Kingdom. John wrote about the same thing just different wording. In the Greek, John wrote with the Greek words of "opposite of anointed", Messiah means Anointed not Savior. Christ also the mean Anointed.
They translated the "opposite anointed" into "antichrist" Paul gives a better description of the man of lawlessness "antichrist" at 2 Thessalonians
Chapter 2.
Judaism is waiting for their messiah. Christians are waiting for the second coming of Jesus. Many upon many will be deceivied because the man of lawlessness will be given power to heal and do such things as Jesus did.
The man of lawlessness will arrive as the "Savior" That is why they are ruining the world. "Help Save us they will say" Everyone will be tested and the deception has to arrive first in the flesh. Christens focus on the rapture because of fear. Everyone will be tested down to their death nobody will escape being tested. Through that death the children of light will live in the new earth. The children of darkness will live in their earth which will be this earth that they already rule over.
This world will try to chip everyone with RFID chips in the left arm.
The light goes the right and the darkness to the left.
The man of lawlessness will put himself above every God, proclaiming to be God himself.
The remedy, Cultivate Faith and show love to your fellow man. -
My mom, bless her soul, would have said we are in end of days. Certainly, a lot of the predictions of the Bible are coming true.
Be that as it may. As a Buddhist, and a concerned citizen of this great old earth, I see the answers written in the wind. I try to stay abreast of all the ecological updates, because I see the end of the world as we know today is much closer than we think. A recent article in the NY Times reported that in China, you can look directly at the sun because the pollution is so heavy there. Reason for concern?

This show is definitely coming to an end. God's Word tells us that there are going to be a number of terrifying events that will happen (on earth and in the heavens) before Jesus Christ returns to set things right. But when it's going to happen isn't known to anyone - not even Jesus - but God Himself. But don't live your life in fear of these things. God revealed them to give those who place their trust in Him HOPE in this present age.
The world cannot go on the way it is; it has to come to an end in order for God bring in a better - meaning his - way with a new earth and a new heaven.-

What about that thing with Niburu? Planet X?
I saw a picture of a diagram where a planet was shown orbiting two suns, one being ours, in some respectable publication or other. The guy who referenced it was writing about how its orbit is 11,600 years long, and the next time it passes earth is around 2012. Hence the ever-increasing amount of earthquakes since around 1990. Ever heard anything about that, Enlight or anyone?-
I read all that stuff from Stichen, He had an agenda when writing it, you can tell on how he ends the whole series. 2012 will come and pass, it could be a thing of preperation for the man of lawlessness.
The man of lawlessness has to arrive first and get anointed at the king of the children of darkness. This will happen through Judaism.
The man of lawlessness will act like he is going to save the world, this is why mankind is ruining it. He will be a powerful delusion for people that don't what the hear the truth.
Then the children of darkness will murder the children of light. It is through the children of the light's faith and death that will save them into the ego-less new earth. John 3:16. Jesus taught about faith, love, his chosen and the judgment time.
The Christians will not know what hit them. along with this whole world.
After the murdering of the children of light, The ego driven children of darkness will thing they have achieved peace and security and at that time, The king of the children of light, Yeshua (Jesus) will show up the glory of the Almighty Divine Creator of All and reduce these wicked one to a ruin, but not complete destroy them.
This is where they get heaven and hell. Two kingdoms. Two kings that have to come to the earth and be anointed. Messiah mean Anointed not savior.
Jesus is on the right hand of the father and the wicked one will be at the left hand of the father. The separating harvest time will happen.
Keep in mind Judaism is in Exile-meaning no temple. How long was the Exile back when Solomon's temple was destroyed in 586 BCE? Exile meaning they have a nation, which started in 1948 but no temple.
The man of lawlessness will have up to 3 1/2 years to accomplish his goal. This is what Daniel talked about the 7 times. 7 is a number of complement.

Something has just occurred to me and I thought I would throw it into the discussion out of curiosity.
Just say, for example, that aliens landed and that through discourse it was revealed that they had no concept of gods or religion. Would they be on the receiving end of Armageddon? If so then why? God made man in his own image so how would it relate to little grey buggers who have a thing for probing backsides?
If they were exempt from annihilation why are we so privileged? -
I think if the end of all things was coming, no one, not even the Mayans could predict when it would be. For all we know it could happen tonight. I believe in the New Testament when it states that is will happen suddenly, as a thief. So I try to do my best and raise my children the best way possible so that when it does come, we'll be ready and be spared.-

The "End" is referred to several times in the New Testament. I was thinking of when the Apostles asked HIM, what will be the sign of your presence and the conclusion of the order of things?
And another when Paul talked about the Sign of the times, and how all these things will be dissolved in fire.

I for one believe that you have to BELIEVE you're living in the time of the end in order to survive it. Kind of like if you were told you had cancer. You would have to believe it in order to take the necessary steps to treat it... -

Before the man of lawlessness arrives. Verse 4-8
During the time of the man of lawlessness Verse 9-28
After the children of light are murdered Verse 29-31
Now look up Zephaniah 1:14 -18 Since the children of light will be killed, the great day will be a day of the Almighty will be of darkness and gloom, for who? the children of darkness. -
That verse also says: Seek meekness, seek righteousness, and PROBABLY you'll be spared.
I prefer to be in the "PROBABLY" category. A shred of hope is better than having no hope.

Many, many ages have been characterized by apocalyptic thinking. In that sense, at least, we share much with our predecessors on this planet. As an historian I find apocalyptic thinking in the past interesting. When I encounter it in my own life and times it turns my stomach, or makes me think of the proverbial guy on the streets of New York City carrying his sign that reads "The end is near!" New York wouldn't be New York without those signs. So maybe the internet wouldn't be the internet without them either.

But people will always live, just in the kingdom that they belong. The light or the kingdom of darkness. That is the resurrection Daniel talked about. The resurrection Jesus talked about was of the chosen. There are two different resurrections.-

It's pretty clear that it will be DEFINITE when it happens. Honestly, if you think this is bad, you really don't want to be here when it all goes down.

Enlight.. You describe the "man of lawlessness" as the antichrist. You said "when" he arrives. "he" is already here. The world is filled with lawless men and women for that matter.
This whole world is a big mess. You seem to have tapped into some kind of deeper understanding of things... You should run for president and help us out! -
RE: RFID chip... what about the one you can have implanted under your skin?
In the Bible the original Greek text for "666" means to prick or to stick. I'll never take an implanted chip if it becomes mandatory to "buy, sell, or trade." -
Well that is what they will be doing, but it will be done on a systematic level. You first start with the government, then military, then corporations, then univeristies, and so on down the line. Although I really doubt that they would force it upon people until after the man of lawlessness arrives.

Revelation was added, most that book does not have anything to do with what the Prophets wrote. John was not a prophet he was an apostle.
Revelation was added to confuse the real truth of what is going to happen, thus, the world along with Christianity has been stuck on it big time. -
Thats the other concept of the second coming of Jesus, the man of lawlessness will try to deceive everyone to think he is Jesus and act like he will save the world and people will have to go through him.

Good grief--I didn't realize at first that some people were serious.
The events "predicting" the end of time have happened throughout time. We just have better (more comprehensive) news coverage than before.
What's particularly sad is when people have to twist their religion to make themselves feel superior to others ("Left Behind" is a perfect example). How utterly sad (and not a little pathetic). After all, that's what Jesus was all about, right? Condemning others? *sigh* And for that matter, Islam? How about Buddha's last barrier to enlightenment---overcoming EGO?
When you can be humble, you can preach.
Until then, you have no understanding of any major religion.

I am glad I not have any religion. Yes transcending the ego should be number one. Although the other picture having to do with the Israelites and Judaism and the Divine plan has to be looked at. The buddha and Krishna lived in a different culture then Jesus. The culture was more based on enlightenment and pure consciousness then the Divine plan for separating the light from the darkness.
The Buddha taught Narvana, Krishna taught pure consciousness and Jesus taught the Kingdom of God, it all the same thing.

Hmmm, Daniel chapter 7 echoes what Revelation chapters 12 & 13 says..
It deals specifically with what nations will exist when the antichrist comes...
The Lion- Great Britain, The Eagle- The United States, The Bear- Russia and the Leopard- Germany.
Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15-25, and II Thes. Chapter 2 are speaking of the antiChrist standing in the temple procalaiming himself to be God. That is the abomination of desolation. The Mark of the Beast is in Revelation 13: 11-18, it is the same person.
Daniel 7:21, Revelation 12: 17 and 13: 7 all pertain to the antichrist making war against the Saints. In Daniel ch. 7 and Rev. ch. 13 he is described as a person who speaks boastufully.
In a lot of ways Daniel and Revelation give the same prophesies as one another.
Daniel chapter 12: 1-2 is a prophesy on the "rapture"-
Of course the person that wrote Revelation new the scriptures. I mean do you think the lower entities are going to get a book like that in the bible and not have it make some sense. The problem has been that it has detracted away from the real truth.
You don't even need revelation to figure it out.
The rapture is at the very end of everything, Paul said if there are anybody of the children of light left over they will be caught up, that is if.

I wonder what the Bible means when it says the antichrist will "wage war against the Saints." Who are the saints?

Well the saints are the chosen ones of Jesus. Keep in mind there will be a new heavens and a new earth. The chosen, which become sacred spirits rule with Jesus over the new earth. Jesus talked about a little flock (chosen) and other sheep (new earth), basically people that are stuck in religion.
This is why during the time of the man of lawlessness when the children of darkness murders the children of light, anyone who confesses in Jesus will be saved through their death. John 3:16 is referring to the time of the end.
Now refer to Zachariah 13 7-9 two groups. One, the chosen which will take on the suffering for the other sheep (two) which will be just killed and resurrected to the new earth.
Many called few chosen. -
So Mahmoud Ahmadinejad opens his recent U.S. speeches with the following:
"Oh, God, hasten the arrival of Imam al-Mahdi and grant him good health and victory and make us his followers and those to attest to his rightfulness."
He is praying for the return of the twelfth imam to fulfill the Islamic apocalypse and purge infidels from the Earth.
