Topics: egypt, human rights
I figured that the topic of human rights in Egypt is deserving of its own thread. Hopefully we can leave the anti-semetism, and hate rhetoric out if it and have a decent and lively discussion on the matter.
In general:
What are human rights?
How are these rights conferred upon us?
Are they eternal rights or can people lose them?
How does YOUR country, citizenry in particular regard human rights?
Do some human by virtue of the group(s) they belong to assume more rights than others?
In Egypt:
Does Egypt actively support human rights?
Does Islam in Egypt have any bearing on how they view human rights?
Since Mubarak has the human rights issues in Egypt gotten better or worse?
Since 9/11 have the human rights issues in Egypt gotten better or worse?
If you could point to one example (be it nation, theory, literature, etc) of nearly perfect human rights what would it be?
