Do you like Frank Miller's work?
300 was a smash hit.
One of my all time favorites.
What do you think about his up coming movie - The Spirit?

I'm excited. I worked for a small special effects studio in a small town in Ohio. They got the winning bid to do the effects, and as I was leaving the studio, I got a pre-show of some of the "goodies" that they were working on. I probably had the chance to go to New Mexico to PA on that film, but I was too exhausted to go through with it. Kind of wish that I had now. It'll be awesome, I guarantee

It is cool, but we worked 19 hours a day, 6 days a weeks for 6 weeks, and I had a 1 and a 1/2 half hour, round trip driving time on top of it. We didn't sleep for 6 weeks because there was no time for that, showers and general self maintenance. Its a hard life to say the least. However, it is worth trying at least once in your life. The experiences and connections are well worth it.

It is a good experience. I'm really excited about the movie. I used to do comic book illustrating, and I was like 9 years old and my biggest influence was Will Eisner, how messed up is that? But the guy captured so much adult humor and suave noir darkness. Ever a fan of the 70's Vampirella series?

Well, Frank Miller didnt direct 300, Zack Snyder did whom also directed Dawn of the Dead and is now directing Watchmen which is a movie Im really excited for. Not so much for The Spirit. Frank Miller did however write 300 but it wasnt his movie, it was Zack's. But check out Watchmen.

Watchmen? Excellent! I had no idea. The deal is that Hollywood has been knocking on Miller's door for a long time to do Sin City, but Rodriguez really showed him what could be done with it, and in a faithful manner. It inspired Miller, and since Frank Miller was directly groomed by Eisner, I'm sure that it will be faithful, but to the point where many people will not be able to get into it.

I was looking forward to it. I'll still go see it, but I'm a bit nervous. Miller has made a number of pointless and arbitrary changes to the characters, such as making Silken Floss an accountant (near as I can tell) while assigning Ellen Dolan the doctor role that Silken Floss played in the strip.
I understand that changes need to be made when transferring from one medium to another, but I don't like change for no reason other than change. And since Miller has engaged in it, I'm worried for "The Spirit."
