Actually sites like this, the Rainforest site, the Hunger site, etc. are tremendously inefficient. Charities would be much better off if people would just send them a $5 check once a year. Unfortunately people are lazy & want to feel they've done something good RIGHT NOW, even if their "efforts" are virtually useless.

Actually most people who play this game aren't going to give 5 dollars and are probably on the computer a lot anyway, so it is not at all inefficient.
I have found that I don't use it, as I now have 3 women from "women to women", and have worked constantly in some way or another in shelters or missions since I can remember. Friends who do similar things also don't use it, people I know who do nothing and wouldn't have given 5 dollars and spend a lot of time on the computer use it and to me that makes it pretty efficient because it takes nothing and makes it something.
I think the WFB had gotten a fair amount of Rice out of it.
something and having many people play it all at once has gotten a lot of Rice for the U.N. World Food Program.-

Exactly--they're too lazy to write a check & want to feel good NOW!
When you calculate all of the clicks & the costs, very little actually goes toward helping people (unless you administer freerice.com, the hunger site, or any of those other "free click" sites, that is.) There are plenty of websites out there about it, but most people are too lazy to do much research, either.

FreeRice.com ? Yea ! I love that incentive.
But I always play after I've had dinner - because looking at the rice bowl really makes me hungry !
