Any fans?
He did over 200 still lifes, mostly fruit in bowls on tables. They have bold colors with dark outlines which reminds me of stained glass which I really like.
He did lots of landscapes of France. I really like his buildings but not the globby/lumpy looking plants. That's just my taste.
I adore his Pyramid of Skulls picture. It's very realistic and dark. Reminds of "alas, poor Yorick..." Either I am a Shakespeare fan or I have a dark side, I guess.

Dosox - you have to immerse yourself into getting to know maybe 10 to 20 of one painter's works to where you almost have them memorized. Then one day, you'll see a painting and know who did it and yet it's not one of the ones you memorized. This means you have internalized that particular artist's style. It's a neat feeling when this happens.

Very nice I am a big fan of the Impressionists, I like the way they use colour.
I have just added some of my new art to my blog, I have tried to use colour in the same bold way but with a much more fluid abstract style.
