My wife and I first met through Friendster, but we never use it anymore.

Facebook is the best social network for me. It's clean, it's fast, and you won't hear invasive music everytime you visit a profile page.

I'm on Facebook but it's a pain getting loads of requests for pokes, vampires, werewolves etc.

So out of the two I would say MySpace!

here in Phil. friendster is the sure winner. easy to navigate. post pics etc. cant navigate facebook, not many "real" friends are there. Myspace is unheard of here.

  Beg to disagree. Friendster dominates the social networking in the Philippines but Myspace is not exactly 'unheard of'. Many Filipinos have a myspace account, especially the younger generations. The older generations just don't keep up that much. No offense though! Just making my corrections.

  I don't think jnyj1018 meant it literally. I think she just meant to say that Friendster is vastly more popular in the Philippines compared to other social networking networks like MySpace which still has a very small share.

I just watched a group on facebook grow to over 600k people in about three weeks.

It was simple, but it caught people's attention and they invited all their friends, and so on, and so on...

Has anyone had luck creating a wave like this?

Friendster...Myspace...Facebook?
A couple of facts...

1) Facebook makes over $8 million a MONTH from advertising alone.
2) Myspace makes almost $25 million.

WE, the users, don't get any of this, even though WE are the ones making the pages, writing the blogs and uploading the pictures!

I came across a site that actually pays it's members just to use it!

So I decided to give it a try...So far so good!!!

I love Facebook and I like Myspace too. It's hard to say which is my favorite although I lean more towards Facebook because there are certain things that I love about myspace and certain things that I love about Facebook. Friendster is what Myspace should have been in 2003-2004 ish - then everyone somehow ended up at Myspace then Facebook kind of just came out of nowhere. Friendster really got the shaft. Fan of Myspace or not, the point is that it's a social network, and since the majority of everyone I know is on it, it'd defeat the purpose if I was on Friendster all by my lonesome when the purpose is to be where your friends are. I don't meet people on MS though. If you're a friend on there, I already know you.

I use friendster just because most of the people I know are on it.

I really like facebook because of the clean interface and it's very user friendly.

But my top choice would be multiply. It's where I connect to people who mean a lot to me.

That depends on your location, in the Philippines the most popular is Friendster, my friends in India they said it's Orkut, here in Dubai Facebook is popular and I think in US still MySpace but no sure.

i honestly think that the title for this should be
MYSPACE vs FACEBOOK

since both are heavy on north-american users especially myspace.

For those who don't know (and those who act as if they don't know) FRIENDSTER is very strong in the ASEAN region.

worth mentioning imho is the 'one-step' higher social platform idea: NING

but i guess my response is sort of a boycott since i've stuck with MULTIPLY for responsible social networking
