Hey everyone! I have pretty recently created a blog dedicated to gaming reviews. I'm planning to get a GameFly account so that I can rent more games to play in order to review more.
I really want to be able to offer fellow gamers a great place to go in order to find reviews from someone who has truly played the games they review - not just a copy/paste off of someone else's site.
***I am in need of some help! If anyone knows of some really great games on the market, I would really appreciate it if you could let me know the title.***
Thanks to anyone who responds!!!

1. You need to find games that interest you.
2. Go to Gamerdad.com and email him for advice. He's been doing reviews for years. He went through surgery last year, his donation efforts were less then successful.
3. Cucumber in the pants during the photo ops never hurt. Just saying..
4. Gamefly sucks. Do some more homework on where to go. If you're in a popular area, there's more than one mom-and-pop shop that will be glad to sell you a monthly pass. I can get one for 15 bucks a month. This'll get you started: www.allgamerentals.com/
RedOctanerentals.com has a good service from what I gather. -
If you want to know what the good games are, check out the forums at N4g.com, IGN.com and 1UP.com. Great sources of information and inspiration, all. As far as the PS3 goes, my favorites are COD4, Uncharted, The Orange Box, The Darkness, and Resistance. As far as downloadable games go I like fl0w, Super Stardust HD, Calling All Cars, and Pixeljunk Monsters.

I would advise you not to listen to GlossGreen.
If the person does that though, they're more likely to develop a bias and an opinion even before playing the game. GG already told you what his favorite games are, so that can form a bias. Remember that the best game reviews are ones that you have no idea what they're about.
Avoid other gaming review sites unless you just want to ask them for strategy pointers. -
My favorites also happen to be some of the best games for the PS3. I also have Assassins Creed, Unreal Tournament 3, Oblivion, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm, Folklore, and Warhawk that I have yet to play. I think that just about covers the best sellers for the PS3. So riverstyxxx, are all the PS3 games off limits now, or can avachin make the decision herself. By the way, avachin did ask what the "great games on the market" are, so I told her, or was saying the title of the games too much information? I guess she will just have to make up her own mind now. Lastly, knowing something about the game won't necessarily alter ones enjoyment or perception of it. A reviewer knows that they have to be neutral and honest. If you like a game, great. If you hate a game, that's fine too, as long as you hate it for the right reasons. Hating a game based on another's opinion is wrong. Hating a game because you've played it and it's awful is another. That decision is for each of us, individually, to decide.

"By the way, avachin did ask what the "great games on the market" are, so I told her, or was saying the title of the games too much information?"
Right, but you took it out of context. The "Great Games" are the ones that you find while browsing the store and spend a week trying out, based purely on interest for the genre, not just reading about someone else's opinion.
Can you make sense of that, reading someones opinion then trying it and Somehow trying to form your own opinion with no regards to being opinionated before playing it?
Your opinion of "Great Games" differs from a lot of other people's opinions anyway, I have never played any of those games that you just listed.
I think if you took several psychology courses, it might explain things a little better as to how the mind operates and how it forms opinion. Try some speech courses and maybe a little sociology to polish it off. One of the key elements is that people tend to follow the crowd, even though they don't realize it, heavily based on opinion of others.
If that blogger made a website by reading someone else's opinion, then they're no better off. One thing I learned is that IQ points drop when we hang on to vague opinion and the actions of others.
How many times have you avoided a game or a movie because your best friend said it was horrible?
And frankly, you're the one who came in here proclaiming HD to be dead without any sort of logic besides toshiba bailing on it. There's always a chance dude. Gizmodo has a different opinion other then "HD being Dead", they're on the same page as me even though I didn't read about it there before forming my own opinion based on what the facts that we do know about HD.
If you want to write, then stop listening to other people. -
Ayachin (sorry, I spelled your name wrong before), great blog. I really like the mix of old and new stuff there. Sorry about starting this argument here. I really had no intention to do that. I really look forward to reading more of your stuff. By the way, why isn't this one listed under your profile here? No matter, I have it bookmarked anyway. Thanks for your good work.

Thanks for the advice guys - outside of the argument lol
I think I am going to try out GlossGreens suggestion of Oblivion. Any future game suggestions are greatly appreciated!
I like to keep a very open mind on games of all styles so that I can complete reviews for a wide variety of viewers.
River I'll check out those links for game rentals, thanks! GameFly used to be $14.95 a month when I was last using their services about 4 months ago, but it appears they have upped it a buck to $15.95.
Thanks again guys!!-
you guys are worse than the epeens on the warcraft forums. or just cleverly trolling a well plotted argument. either way I just wanted to say to ayachin nice blog,i enjoyed it. i can't review the games you cover but what i do know is world of warcraft so if you need any pointers or help with resources from pcgaming and warcraft strategy swing by Divine Intervention @ DiWooT.blogspot.com

hmmm..I will add this. If you are going to do a gaming blog and going to review the "great games" you have to remember that anyone or any other site is suggesting is their opinion and not yours. Why don't you just play the games YOU really want to play and review those? why not go to a games store, write down the new releases you want to try, rent them and review them? if you see a "popular" game out there, try it but try without reading other people's reviews on them.
It's just a suggestion
