There are a lot of cool game consoles out there right now. Do you prefer the new systems for their sheer brilliance, or the old school consoles for nostalgic reasons?
I'm leaning old school.

Some old school games are great, particularly how the premise is never questioned. Remember those old space shooters? You are one ship against a fleet of ships. Who in their right minds would be insane enough to send out a single ship to take out an entire armada comprised of hundreds to thousands of ships?

I played on Pong and Atari - River Raid on Atari was my favorite. Also Chutes and Ladders on Comodore 64. I saw on the news the other day that the first video game actually came out in the 50's - don't remember the story in full, but basically some scientist invented the game so that people waiting to see the scientists wouldn't get too bored. Kinda cool.
