I got the H1N1 vaccine and the regular flu shot last week in Vancouver, Canada without incident. I usually don't get a flu shot, because when I used to get it for work I had a strong reaction to the shot itself, then ended up getting sick anyway, so I thought it wasn't worth it.

But I felt strongly about getting H1N1, and I was fortunate enough to get in before the hysteria started, so I had no difficulties at all.

What are other people's experiences? Anyone else write a blog post about it?

Aren't you kind of getting caught up in the hysteria already just by getting a shot? There are thousands of times more people killed every year by traffic accidents, malaria, you name it, than will ever die of swine flu.

Maybe, but young, healthy people are dying of this flu and I am immunosuppressed. I felt very strongly that it was important to get the shot once it was available.

Yes, but what are the chances? Seriously, you have a greater chance of being schmucked by a bus.

Well I can't say what the chances WERE before I was vaccinated, but the chances are NOW zero!

Well I've had mild flu symptoms since the shot but the pain in my arm is gone. The nurse when she gave the shot said so many people have strong reactions that they make a point of recommending Tylenol.
