Teenage girl in Europe goes to a tattoo parlor to get three stars on her face. She is now suing the tattoo parlor for giving her 56 stars on one side of her face. She claims to be scarred for life.

Well, no sh*t. You have 56 stars on your face! How do you not notice someone tattooing 56 stars on your face when you only asked for three?

This screams bullsh*t to me. Tattoo artists are not in the habit of giving away extra tattoos and their time just for the heck of it. Plus, there are witness who say she only got upset after her parents showed up at the tattoo parlor.

There is also a tiny part of me that thinks the tattoos are actually really beautiful on her and that she should just rock the look.

    That's old news.

She already came out and changed her story. She only said she "fell asleep and woke up with 56 stars instead of 3" because her dad and boyfriend were furious when they saw what she did to herself.

Ah... a narcolepsy victim then? Or how do you fall asleep when someone is repeatedly jabbing your face with a needle?
    2. Epicharis
I know I can't sleep unless someone is repeatedly stabbing my face with a needle!
    3. FreakSmack
@shyflower I've fallen asleep during all of my tats (none on the face though)

I thought it was a lie from the beginning.

It subtly hinted in the original articles, the fact that her brother and dad was furious, and then she said she fell asleep kind of said everything to me.

Tattoo parlours to tend to like it when people pass out, and just carry on. It makes it easier for them

Haha, I just saw the pic on that link, and decided to see if a website I visit a lot had done something on it?

it was on the front page

Quoting Aston Klutcher on this - "how can u not realize that a tatto artist is turning your face into Milky Way" so true.

That was resolved quickly if I remember correctly.

The girl had got the stars tattooed, then came home to an angry father and told him that she had fallen asleep and the tattoo artist had tattooed an excessive amount of stars on her face. But she then withdrew that statement and said she knew what she was doing, but got so scared by her fathers reaction. The sweet thing was, that the tattoo artist offered to pay half the costs of the removal fees.

Anyway, if your afraid of your fathers reaction, maybe you shouldn't be getting the stars on your face.

    Beat by 14 seconds. Ouch.
  4. aningeniousname
It depends who the stars are if it is people like Bette Davis, Cary grant and Bogart that's quite cool but if it's Paris Hilton, Gary Coleman and Carrot top it's more of a problem.

I don't understand how people lie like that. My brother lies really easily and it makes me insane. It reflects such weakness of character and poor personal ethics.
    1. Epicharis
      Or good espionage potential...
    2. Stillthinking
With my brother, the lies just come spilling out even when he knows he's been caught. Lie after lie after lie.
    3. Shiley
Mine too. Apparently my brother was a Navy Seal, went to Mexico to take out some drug cartel guy but couldn't because there was a child in the car. Hmmm... reeks of Scarface. He was in the Navy the rest is fictitious.

That is only a small fraction of the junk he says. I don't know where the truth starts and the lies end. I think it's safe to say I don't really know my brother.

She should remove six of them, and tattoo 6 white, and 7 red stripes on the other side

My daughter is studying to be a dermatologist. I told her she should come up with an easier way to remove tattoos. This generations will have tattoo regret. They wont be able to hold a decent paying job with tats on their neck, behind their ear...

I'm thinking about it my dog gone self!
    2. GabrielGadfly
Either that, or employers will have to change with the times and realize that a bit of ink doesn't impact a person's ability to perform their job.

She looks like a total ass, which seems appropriate. It's one thing to lie to your parents about a tattoo, but to talk to reporters?!

@ laton I hear what your saying for sure .. Here in Canada, at least where I am it seems that tattoo's are becoming more accepted. I remember walking into a coffee shop about 4 years ago and the person behind the counter had tattoo's piercings and the like. I'll admit, I was a bit suprised to see that as I remember landing a job once and being told I had it BUT I would have to remove the ring in my eyebrow... Times seem to have really changed! I even know of a few professionls that work in hospitals and 1 of them has full sleeves.. We've come a long way from let's say even 10 years ago ..

      Cheers

Teenage girls should not be getting tattoos anyway!

When my daughter was 16, she wanted a tattoo. Since I have one, it would be hypocritical for me to just say no, so I told her that she could have one and I would pay for it...on her 18th birthday. By the time she turned 18, she had lost interest. She's now 44 and still tattoo-free.

What an idiot. This is among the least convincing lies I have ever heard.
    1. MissSuzie
      Agreed.

When I was in the Army everyone got tatoos. The only one I liked was a grizzly bear that fit over the whole chest or back. It cost $500. That was more than a months pay back then, so I didn't get it. Lucky me. At 18 I didn't have any fur. Now . . . well, it's different.

The ability to sue has ridden stupid people of self-responsability....anything you can clearly say "no" to should never be able to be brought to court. Period.
  12. melindaville
I have to agree with you. I think she wanted all the stars and then changed her mind when her dad got mad.

Sure is ugly though! I'm so glad I never got any tattoos!
    1. lotusb
Well to be fair...a face tattoo is a lot dumber than one on your back or hip...
    2. melindaville
True--and you have a point. Could be 'natural selection' at work! LOL!
  13. Anok
What makes her even more of a dumbass was that she asked for all those stars, without any thought to how she would explain it to her parents! It's not like she could hide them

In our state, you must be 18 to get a tattoo or piercing (other than a normal earring). you may get one as young as 16, with parental permission, and most shops require the parents be present. That way, they can't get sued by angry parents.

Myself, I have never understood why anyone would have a need to put marks on their body, but, I guess it is satisfying some need; so many people are doing it.
    1. JonnyDunMind
I wouldn't say its due to some need.
I don't have a tattoo, and used to be very against them. Now I'm not, and am enjoying trying to choose, or even design what to get.

To me, it seems very much the opposite, it's something that's completely unneccessary.
  15. freshtunesfinland
Tattoos themselves can be beautiful, in an art perspective.

But they also bring other things with them, like being labeled as a criminal or the likes. People make up their mind so quickly by a first impression, that having stars tattooed on your face will definitely make them have a preconceived opinion about the person.
  16. legbamel
I love my tattoo, but the desire to "decorate" your face permanently completely escapes me. I still can't get over the idea that people get eyeliner tattoos, much less stuff in the middle of their cheeks or foreheads. Unless you're a member of Kiss, getting stars tattooed on half of your face is simply a dumb thing to do. I know a lot of people who've been inked, including some who got their first tattoos when they were in their 50s. It's much more acceptable these days, but being literally in-your-face about it betrays more issues than a simple design on an ankle or arm or your back.
