Giving Away 50 Copies Of My Ebook.

You all know Im doing an ebook on Blogcatalog, which features everything I know about Blogcatalog plus all of my tips for blogcatalog and social networking in general.

That post contains a hint of what is in the book though I have expanded on it ten fold.

Now some questions for you.

What would someone charge for an ebook?
Is there demand for a book on social networking through blogcatalog?

Also after some questions to be answered through the book. Could be anything on social networking or blogcatalog if you have any.

Interested in your book- FREE?

I too have been doing some research on e-books.. the pricing would depend on if it is just 1 ebook or whether it comes with other "free" or packaged items.
not sure if you will be able to gather much interest in your book through social networks haven't really tried it myself...what I am interested to know is how to effectively increase ranking itself in blog catalogue.. as I noticed that they give you a score out of 100 upon registration and mine is extremely low.

Plenty of folks out there interested in joining the social bookmarking band wagon. Myspace, squidoo, Hub Pages books abound. Have yet to see one on Blog Catalog..even at the Blog Giveaways.

As an aside...if you are interested in following along with this venture and doing similar things in the future. You could do a scaled down report to give away for free for some of the many giveaways to get a list to market this ebook and any you might write in the future. Just threw that out there in case it was an idea that hadn't occurred to you, and it was one you might be interested in.

I have written a few ebooks on a few different topics and based on that experience, here is what I recommend. First, I think an ebook on BlogCatalog would be successful depending on what it is about. My suggestion would be something with a title like the following:

How To Drive Massive Traffic To Your Site With Blog Catalog
The Inside Secrets To Building Tremendous Traffic With Blog Catalog
The Ultimate Guide To Creating An Online Empire With Blog Catalog

I just came up with these off of the top of my head, but I think you get my point.

I would price it somewhere between $9.90 and $14.90 if it is a small book. Since it is a social network and people could really come to the site and figure it out themselves, you should probably start low. You can always increase the price later on like Aaron Wall did with the SEO Book.

Then I would offer the ebook on ClickBank since you are able to get affiliates working to sell it and you couldn't possibly sell more copies of it just doing it by yourself.

Then I would create a "teaser" to the book. This would be only a few pages and I would price it at .99 and sell it on ebay. You would be surprised how this will drive traffic! The title is going to have to be really catchy since its sole purpose is to capture people's attention and drive them toward the larger product.

Make sure your ebook contains a whole bunch of links in the header and footer (in white) back to your niche sites.

Here are some of the topics I would include and how I would word it if I were doing it:

How To Build A Massive Following (by adding friends)
How To Get People To Notice What You Are Doing (by creating groups)
How To Connect With Other People (by joining groups and being proactive)
How To Cross Market Your Site (by joining and socializing in groups outside of your niche but related to it)
