HAVE U EVER THOUGHT IF THE RELIGION WAS MADE TO UNITE THE WORLD AND LOVE FELLOW HUMANS
THEN
WHY IT IS DIVIDING THE WORLD?
TEACHING TO KILL IN NAME OF GOD?
PREACHING TO HATE EVERY OTHER PERSON?
SHOULD THERE BE ANY RELIGION AND GOD THEN?

    We lack in Religion.
Religion is not everything but it is something.
We need to put our own efforts.
  2. melindaville
Does typing it in all caps make it more important?

    I do not think so!

Please no more shouting. Thank you.
    1. angelohero
hey if u dont like caps its ok. but i think its important and as important bcs it challenges our very existence now...
think about the rules made 2000 years ago can they all be still applicable now.?
      should we fight for that?
    2. timethief
      @anglehero
FWIW typing in all capital letters in cyberspace is considered to be equivalent to SHOUTING into someone's face, therefore, it's not good netiquette. It's considered to be rude.
    3. OneMuslim
I think Mr Firaun has broken his CAPS LOCK button. Don't be mad at him, he has no intention to do that.
  3. freeatlast
the topic statement makes sense, more or less, if one believes in god.
  4. OneMuslim
GOD IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL? NO
HUMAN IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL? YES COMPLETELY TRUE and like other EVIL, HUMAN DON'T BLAME HIMSELF, THEY BLAME ON GOD.

Its like when the boogeyman been caught, the police officer ask him, who is responsible for this crime? answer me! Then the boogeyman answered "its not me, its God you know.".
    1. angelohero
yea thats the thing if we havent seen god why should we fight for him

we allocate him in church masjid and temple etc but does he really need those things?
    2. OneMuslim
church masjid temple? God don't need those places, but we human desperately need those places... to be in touch with God.
  5. MyohMy
Any religion that teaches to kill in the name of their religion is obviously a bad one. On another note...whether we believe there is a God or not doesn't make it so. He exists or He doesn't. Of course if we're only "following" a god that we design and that fits our ideas and lifestyle then what are we really following? That god really isn't powerful or useful to us.
    1. angelohero
YEA THATS MA POINT....... WE MAKE THE RULES OURSELVES IN NAME OF GOD , LIKE THESE CANT DO THAT THESE SHOULD FOLLOW THIS AND WE ARE THE ONLY VICTIMS GOD DOESNT SHARE OUR PAIN ..
IS THE LIFE WORTHY THIS BATTLE?
    2. timethief
      angelohero
Can't you please find the caps lock key on your keyboard and click it to turn it off, so we do not feel like you are SCREAMING into our faces?
  6. Margie2007
Yes, I really think about religions in this way. No doubt they were created to help people understand the world, Nature, which seemed to them strange and impossible to understand. Then religions became related with political power. God was supposed to give power to chosen people called kings, queens etc. So religions began to compete to win the first place in the world of politics. Now Their fights ( I mean the fights between various cults, churches) have nothing to do with good virtues. That's why I agree with you.
    1. angelohero
yea dude u really share my point .......... it has been depricated with time should we stop now??????????
or arent we ready for it yet????
  7. vijayanths
No religion preaches hatred or enmity or violence. God can never be evil.
    1. angelohero
IT DOES PREACH BCS WE ONLY HAVE CREATED RELIGIONS ....... SO WE ONLY PREACH EVIL THERES NO GOD TO SAY SO.... ITS OUR WITHIN US AND OUTSIDE US....BUT INTERPRETATION IS WRONG....
  8. timethief
Humans invented the concept of a creator god in an attempt to explain the inexplicable. Throughout history religion has been an impediment to human progress. It has created a false justification for subjugating women, children, first nations peoples, specific ethnic groups, and eliminating cultures. This is not to mention that the name of god has become the rallying cry for creating wars and killing one another in genocides.

There is hope for the survival of human civilization and that hope is manifest in the consistent application of reason, in the ethics and values expressed through secular humanism, and in the constant evolution of human intelligence through scientific inquiry.
    1. angelohero
YEA THATS TRUE DUDE...... IF WE COULDNT HAVE EXPLAINED WHAT ELECTRICITY WAS THEN WE SHOULD HAVE NAMED IT ON GOD.........
NOW ALSO WE DO THAT IN SOME OTHER HUMANE THINGS.... SHOULDNT WE BE ASHAMED?
    2. timethief
In face to face communication humans do not have meaningful communication exchanges when one is SHOUTING at the other. In cyberspace typing in all capital letters is equivalent to SHOUTING. I no longer wish to continue communicating with you because you are persisting in SHOUTING.
  9. voodooKobra
God almost certainly doesn't exist (unless he's a deceptive, over-controlling coward, or completely apathetic), and evil is a human mental construct.
    1. angelohero
that might not be completely true ........ theres really some unseen unknown force that guides life and universe everything is created for a reason .... a reason of what?
but we have wrong interpretation about it......
    2. voodooKobra
[theres really some unseen unknown force that guides life and divine but we have wrong interpretation about it]
What unseen unknown force? How can you claim to know there's an unknown force?
    3. crazyTsu
Think about this force, which moves all the suns in a galaxy though they are billions of light years apart, around itself.. and the force that makes all galaxies move around itself.
Inexplicable force. What a wonder it is that this universe has such order within apparent chaos!
Just THINK of the magnitude of that force!!!

Not arguing in favor or against God.. but the word "force" simply reminded me of this
  10. angelohero
hey dude its simple. example theres an accident everyone dies but a small child survives..... whats for that ...... why do we have only one universe and thats expanding wheres the root...
    1. voodooKobra
Before you start asking questions in a rhetorical manner, study physics.

  11. Empath
Well, you don't have to shout it. Personally, I find religion itself useless. One does have to wonder what kind of religion teaches hatred. MY GOD doesn't teach/tolerate hatred.
    1. voodooKobra
Would you be willing to say he HATES HATRED? Huh? *elbow nudge* No? Alright then.
  12. angelohero
itanswer does not lie in physics..... no answers have been there what we can't correctly interpret the facts......
    1. voodooKobra
If something is outside the realm of physics, what evidence do you have that this something even exists? Surely there must be some observable effect. If there is, then this observable effect must be measurable, quantifiable, and testable. Hence, within the realm of physics.
  13. angelohero
ok do you believe that we are alone on this world ? or do we have friends ...... over the universe???????????
    1. voodooKobra
We have each other here on earth. What more do you want?

      *mumbles the word ingrate*

Extraterrestrial life almost certainly exists elsewhere in the universe due to cumulative probability.
  14. angelohero
all lies in probability ....... do you think there is also a probability if a man can be an retrogressive animal........

science also has its limitations....... whats then the medicine for aids .. or let other as luckemia ......etc..... we have to find answers can let all the facts rule us ..... believe yourself by knowing yourself..... because science itself isnt constant and change is the only constant
    1. voodooKobra
      [science also has its limitations]
I hear this parroted a lot by bullshit religious folk, but I've yet to see someone substantiate it.

[whats then the medicine for aids]
      www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/03/090312114801.htm

Science comes up with new stuff all the time. Just because we don't have something RIGHT THIS SECOND doesn't mean we won't. Have some flippin' patience!

      [or let other as luckemia]

I don't know what that's supposed to mean, but Leukemia is treatable by bone marrow transplant, and therefore answers your query for medicines.

[because science itself isnt constant and change is the only constant]
And yet you believe that "Science is limited" will always be constant?
  15. JoseSinclair
"God" was created in man's image: wrathful, jealous, self-centered, 'my word is law' autocracy... this is not the COSMIC God but simply the best the mind of man can come up with.
The primitive Judaic concepts of deity are sorely out-dated now, and came from a barbarous time with no literacy and a "survival first" mentality. The purpose of religions is to teach morals and ethics, create a more harmonious civilization. However, historians now attribute 1.5 BILLION deaths to Catholicism alone, not counting the other religions.
This is hardly "ethical living" - in fact, the Bible and western religions are so violent that in time they may even be OUTLAWED by more humane societies.
The "Creator" can't be happy that we destroy so much of it, but then the CReator created this mess, allows the mayhem and carnage, so it's not a "thinking, moral" Deity in charge at all, more like a "Force" from StarWars or universal energy that can be used for good or evil, that's up to us. Whatever created this mess created the bad with the good, the evil with the righteous, the dark with the light. The Yin-Yang concept is "how it is", 'God' by definition, is "everything", the whole ball of wax.

I have to laugh at the simple-minded concept of a "devil" making us do EVIL (de'evil?), while 'God' is powerless to override that, and is in a constant struggle? some Creator concept, - our COSMOLOGY or view of the universe is sorely FLAWED and should be re-written for a MODERN world!!

As you are a new member perhaps you aren't aware that there are religious discussion groups at BC. Just in case that is the case here's the main link to them

Choices, not God, is the root of all evil. You're either going to choose to do evil or not. Quit putting your shortcomings on others (or other entities) and own up to your own faults.
  18. Floormodel
religion is the cause of many a war but God does not equal religion, God equals faith. Religion and faith are not the same.
    1. voodooKobra
What's the difference between faith and dogma?
    2. angelohero
so whats the phrases like ......... my god is better than yours .... my religion is the best
    3. Floormodel
      Dogma's a movie!

      (and one of my favorites)

it's human nature to compete so it makes sense that someone would compare his God, his house, his wife, his... well you know. But that doesn't make God the root of all evil.

The history told us there is a GOD who really care about us ..
  20. mpbabaji
100% i agree with you. "God is the Root of All Evil".
  21. lnclark1950
I blogged about this very subject recently.

    realmenrock.blogspot.com/2009/02/evil-where-did-it-come-from.html

Some of you won't like the post. In a nut shell God created humans and angels with free choice. Some choose evil and others choose to try to be good.
  22. gpagoopio
I disagree with angelohero. But my God doesn't have a religion either. LOL! Here's what I believe:

God is love. It is humans and our nature that is flawed.
  24. sorcerer
The caps lock and it had all my attention.

    its all an illusion..
  25. Selvia
The word God itself is so positive and the word devil is so negative.

If you do not believe in God, it is best to keep your opnion to yourself. Respect other people's believe.

People who believe in god doesnt condemn people who dont believe in him. Each and every one of us have the right to believe what we want to believe so

If you like god, believe and praise him
if you do not believe him dont condemn.
  26. exit2013
I thought 'money' was the root of all evil? =(
    1. Axi27
actually it's "the love of money" but I don't think to many people in this discussion are keeping tabs.
