Do you believe in God or in Science?

What if they are only one?

Why does it have to be "or"?

As a UU, a key cornerstone of our faith is asking questions, learning more about everything in life. I'm pretty religious and I also enjoy keeping up on the latest information in the sciences.

i believe you have already chosen (indicated by your second question)

there is no discussion here only preaching

you should reconsider using tags like believe, Faith, God, love, relationships, science if you want to have a real discussion regarding the topic

'God' may not be as we 'imagine' him to be. He/she may not look or feel like we humans do. He might just be a supreme 'system' which runs this universe. He might not be sitting there to listen to our prayers, but he might have designed the system such that our prayers bring about change.

We should believe in God, because we love his creation, this world, and how there is an order in every chaos.
We shouldnt believe in him just because, we want someone to save us or blame when things go wrong.

Sciene is just a way of 'Interpreting' this system created by him.

The topic should be about choosing between RELIGION and science. If there is a God, then God obviously created the laws of nature, so that is beside the point. The interesting question is when religious dogma contradicts science. What then? Actually, this only concerns biblical literalism. Most religions have no problem with science. So the question could be restated as the choice between science and biblical literalism.

      GOD Created Science
    3. siralmo
GFG - that is very narrow minded

    Humans created Ignorance
    1. siralmo
GOD created humans with full knowledge that they would become ignorant

What is knowledge but mere human perception of what things ought to be and how omnipotent they are... and at the end of the day.. we can't conquer death.. we become crap
    3. siralmo
GFG - i would define knowledge as "complete understanding"

it is one thing to understand, everyone has the capability to understand.... but knowledge gives the ability to understand and to put into practice.

perception is correct, but in the case that "god" exists perception is just an illusion, another form on control placed upon us by the omnipotent one... in this never ending chess game
