Food, clothing, and shelter -
Toothbrush, some company and sunscreen-

Nooo only three things o_o...okay I have to go with company, food and shelter. -
I won't take food because most probably, I would find some on the island and test my ingeniuty how to find one. I would take a journal book, pen and a rope/string.-
You sound like McGiver with a rope and a pen.

Lol! Well, rope/string is pretty useful, for example, you can lasso a wild animal, fish, help with putting your shelter together. With my pen, I can write down on my journal book my experiences.

I thought the rope was for hanging yourself after you lost the ingenuity battle looking for food. And we'd be able to read about it later because you wrote down everything in your journal.

Hubby (who is a McGiver)
Lifetime supply of Medication (First Aid Kit, My meds, Some antibiotics)
Pots and Pans
Hubby can hunt, build, create...
I need my meds....
And I would hate to cook in anything not Cast Iron or otherwise - just cause it would be a pain in the arse. LOL!-
I'll tag along with wagerwitch and bring my three items:
1) Lifetime supply of winter clothing (who said the island was in a warm area)
2) A garden variety of tools & seedlings.
3) 100 caskets of excellent wine. (gets better with age)
PS Squishy pillow, teddy and blanket ... but don't tell

Could be a best seller like Robinson Crusoe. Many of the works of Robert L. Stevenson was when he travel by ship around islands and Joseph Conrad do it too.

I'd take a solar-powered shortwave radio, a Leatherman tool or big Swiss Army knife (the one with the fire striker), and a set of enamelware dishes.

A pen, a notebook and a jar of vaseline.
That should take care of all my needs.-
Will you use the vaseline for the ass of the animals? You will be more dangerous than the jungle itself.

lol ... I actually live on a small semi remote island and I'm always equipped for survival. My back pack contains all I need to survive and thrive for an extended period of time.

I believe you win! but instead of fuel, the chopper has enough in my imagination, a bottle of beer when I will see the island from my seat and looking Friday say good bye with the hand.

I can't live without my toothbrush, hahaha! If I take water, it'll eventually run out, and I'd have to take gallons of it. So I'll have to find another way to get water on the island. I'll also teach myself to find food on the island. I can also build my own shelter with natural resources.
I don't care about clothing. The sunscreen will eventually run out, so I'll use another means of natural sunscreen. My friend/boyfriend stays, because I don't want to talk to a coconut. I'd rather take sunglasses instead of sunscreen, as the sunglasses will probably last longer.
So it's: toothbrush, company and sunglasses. The rest I can hopefully adapt to. I mean, how did our forefathers survive without any technology whatsoever?-
a woman with nice teeth, naked and sunglases sound good for your company, I believe he must be happy in the island. it s like vacation! the first months but in later months I believe vaseline from nothingprofound wil be better for him to change a little the emotion.

Yeah, that toothbrush thing is valid. But one day it would wear out so better know how to fashion one from whatever grows on the island. Ideas anyone?

lol This reminds me of a joke:
Three guys are stuck on an island, and one day they find a magic lamp. They rub it and a genie comes out. He says "I shall give you each one wish!"
The first guy says "I wish I was back home with my wife and kids!" and *poof* he disappears.
The second guy says "I wish I was back home too!" and he disappears with a puff of smoke as well.

It is necessary! My teeth ain't gonna clean themselves! I can't afford them to rot, I'll need my teeth to rip into the flesh of monkeys. So what's a substitute for a toothbrush that can be found on an island? Coconut fibers? Hahaha.-

You could use the fibers from a palm tree leaf. They are pretty coarse. If you take a bunch and tie a small brush of them, then tie them to a stick with some tendon or something, you have an improvised toothbrush. The one you bring will wear out eventually anyway.

But there maybe other ways to clean your teeths, I can't remember it now, but I saw a program of guys in a island, and they did not use that, but still that's not necessary because you would only eat vegetal food and some meat, your teeth would still shine LOL
Remember that 5000 years ago there wasn't any of that, still there teeth were shiny ! They didn't eat so much crap like we do

Well, then. Im on the Lost Island, minus the crazy people, and other crazy things. Ie a lush island.
I would take a suitcase of knives, company, and a boat (I might want to leave you know?). But if I can't have a boat, I'll take a 5 gallon jug.

exactly, what kind of island? Hawaii?, a deserted island? it would make a big difference on what 3 items. 1 would make sense to have a AK-47 one wouldn't. -

I think an island with a jungle, big trees and undergrowth, a lot of savage animals, maybe Friday be there, I believe could be nice talk with him instead of be alone. He is not gonna understand to me but I will be keep talking to him to try his language. Maybe a lot of naked women like greek mythology. I will be the god of them.

A city in the jungle, well you can visit Thailand, use your cash buying things and your super-powers like the powerpuff girls to fight some monkeys in the island.

A knife, an axe, and water. You can do lots of things with those three things and hopefully could survive with them. This was an interesting question and it really does make you think about what would be important to have.-
