For the last 3 days, my "google friend connect" or "Followers" gadget was preventing IE7/IE8 visitors from loading blog entries.

They were getting the "Operation Aborted" error.

I had to uninstall the gadget, and restore the template from backup, to fix this situation.

Anyone else who has/had the same problem? What are your experiences?

This has been the ongoing problem and blogspot is not fixing it at all.

So I just got rid of the follower widget forever. After all, the widget is a bit of a joke. There is no way that you can follow more than 100 followers using a small dialog box in blogspot admin.

I have noticed that in case you get into some problem with google or blogger, it is usually very difficult to get it fixed. That's terrible.

This problem is not as simple as editing the code yourself.

I took off the followers gadget because my blog didn't work. This gadget was not my problem. Then I changed my comments form from "Embedded below post" to "Full page". That change made my blog visible.

That's an alternate problem, but thanks for the info.

I don't know whether he's a google employee, but he seems to know a lot about blogger.

This link is on the "google friend connect" problem.

I want to make sure the problem won't come around again to my blog, you never know. My blogs are out of 'friend connect', but there's another gadget that's affected....the "my blog list" gadget! It could lead to the same errors as the "followers" gadget. Anyone else noticed this?

Ok, my other blog -- which did not have the "followers" gadget, but had the "my blog list" gadget was giving errors of the same kind with I.E.8.

I removed the faulty gadget and restored my blog from a template backup. Fortunately I had a template backup.
