Okay. I'm not really sure how this happened, but all of a sudden, a heretofore rarely visited post on my blog is getting all sorts of hits from google image searches.

The post ( if you're interested, it's www.spectacularblog.com/2008/04/pug-meets-its-waterloo.html ) dates back to April. I recently went to a custom URL, and I'm not sure whether that had anything to do with it, but virtually overnight, when you do a google image search on "pug", the pug image shows up on the first page of hits.

Anyone have any insight on why a post like this would suddenly skyrocket to the top of a google image search?

This might be on of the daily searched items and good thing for you is that it must have just got indexed by google to finally appear on search engine result pages .

Well, it's been getting a lot of hits for the past three or four days. It's crazy, because I can never predict which posts are going to get hits. I posted one thing about Nigel Lithgoe and I'm getting lots of regular google hits for that, for some reason. But at least there, the post is about Nigel Lithgoe.

The google image hits baffle me, though. All of a sudden, I'm on the first page of "pug" hits. And "Anderson Cooper" hits. If I could figure out how to maximize this, I'd love to be more selective about the pics I select, and the way I incorporate them/tag them in my blog. But I don't have a clue why those photos get hits, and others don't.
