Hello friends!
This week I was shocked to receive an email from Google saying my Adsense account has been disabled for invalid clicks and/or impressions, though I really don't know where these impressions/clicks came from, if any

I wrote them an email asking for a clarification but got no answer yet.

Read my full post about the matter.
www.boldinvestors.com/2007/08/my-take-google-banned-me-from-adsense.html

I'm now looking for Adsense alternatives and for other ways to monetize my blog.

I'd appreciate your suggestions.
Once again I'd like to thank all of you who love and visit my blog, its really encouraging to receive positive comments about your writing/ideas,

Thanks

    Disturbing!
You have no idea why they banned you?
  2. Norski
    What jungl said.

I took a quick look through your blog, and some of the comments you've made.

First thing that came to mind was the possibility of someone over-clicking on ads, without your knowledge or consent? Maybe to 'get' some third party?

    Just speculation. Mostly, 'bummer!'
  3. yarinh
Nope. Its really annoying I love Adsense, I don't know maybe I accidentally clicked one of my ads...

Is there a way to return to Adsense after you're disabled?
    1. Norski
Is there a way? Don't know, but it wouldn't hurt to look.

Based on limited personal experience, I'd doubt that one click would do it.

In the first month of my use of AdSense, I clicked an ad - accidentally - it registered as a valid click, which worried me. Then, within an hour, the credit from that click disappeared. I was very anxious for a few days, but nothing came of it.

Of course, that's just one instance.
  4. wares4life
Sorry to hear that..They won't bother even replying to your explanation so simply move on to another provider.
  5. Norski
You've probably looked over these, but: just in case

    From AdSense Help:

I've received a policy violation email. What does this mean?

What can I do to ensure that my account won't be disabled?
I know: it's already been disabled, but this might help you figure out why, if AdSense isn't forthcoming. It might also give you something to discuss, and/or let you know what they think various terms mean.

What can I do to prevent sabotage?
As before, it's already happened, but this might be handy in the future.

Best wishes for a satisfactory resolution!

I noticed that I sometime click on my own adds, its not because I want to get money for it, but to see what it is. And I do, but my account never regisers them, so it is kind of add for some of you.
    1. caseyc
You can do that by right-clicking the ad and looking at the properties. You obviously won't have anything to complain about if they suspend your account.
  7. myonlyphoto
caseys, yes I guess I could not complain - so as of today I will stop. I don't understand, you said 'You can do that by right-clicking the ad and looking at the properties.' - what do you mean, I clicked, and properties are not really showing me anything. Can you explain. Thanks. Anna
    1. caseyc
When you right-click it and look at the properties it should have the address listed like this:
      pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/iclk?sa=l&lots_of_random_letters_ai=&n...

The URL for the ad can then be copied and pasted into the browser.
  8. CallCenterVet
That's a major problem with adsense. You can just get banned one day for unknown reasons. Then you write them to dispute but that takes 10 years to get a reply. Then when they do reply nothing will be changed... you're still banned.

That just sucks! Who knows where those invalid clicks came from... It could be another person or blogger you got into an argument with... and clicked away with your adsense just to get back at you.
  9. lheeanne
I never got a problem with adsense, but i got my major online income thru paid reviews. You might want to try it anyways.
  10. MoneyJourney
If you're lucky you'll get reinstate. Write to them after say - 6 to 12 months later. It's not really a big deal if you can't get into Adsense. Try Kontera - I know couple of blog making more money using Kontera compare to Adsense. I don't make much from Adsense either, mine was mostly from affiliate programs.
  11. badm00n
There's always other ways to generate PPC revenue.

First you could look into yahoo ads. I've heard people say they pay more per click?

Also, if your site is product oriented, you can add chitika ads: chitika.com/mm_overview.php?refid=click80

I currently have chitika ads on my site. Average CPC is about 13 cents, but never lower than 6 cents so far. Which is good because I am always getting 1-3 cent clicks on adsense.
  12. ladyinfluence
am so sorry to hear that. there have been many complaints about being banned from adsense and adsense always give the same reason "invalid clicks" and there is no further explanation. you can try chitika or bidvertiser.these are all good money making programs. you can try adbrite, kontera, clixsor and othe sites. spaceofinfluence.blogspot.com
  13. Jonnes
Hi Yarinh! Sorry to hear that. It appears to be very common with Adsense. As ladyinfluence already suggested you may wish to try Bidvertiser, as I use it in my blog. It's a reputable advertising company and the minimum payout is $10 ($100 for adsense). Joining as a publisher you'll become automatically an affiliate, and you'll also get paid for every user you refer. Cheers (evolutioniscoming-global.blogspot.com)

Yes, u can reactivate but it takes a very long time

I don’t really have much experience with AdSense impression frauds, but I believe wrong doing with Stumbleupon can get your web site banned by Google Adsense, that is when there are massive stumblings as primary traffic source. A large number of impressions, without the accompanying click on your ad, for instance.

Somebody else know more on that topic?
  16. EndohT
Adsense is too easy to be sabotaged. Heard plenty of experiences about rivalry online between "top bloggers" and goes to each other blogs, the rest I don't need to say anymore.

Even though I do not blog for money (you wouldn't find a single adsense or advertising banner in my personal blog), I find the idealogy why a host cannot click his own ad a little ridiculous. I host a 2nd aviation blog too, and I inserted an adsense for cosmetical reasons since my side bar is literally empty. Those are my interests... weapons, aircrafts etc. If I am interested in these and curious about certain ads, hey why not? Just click on it. And this is the reason why I never believe in these blogging for money especially for adsense.
  17. yarinh
Well, haven't heard a thing from Google so far.

Meanwhile as I've said I'm checking the alternatives and working hard on content with design with some new ideas for my blog.

    Thanks for your help.

I have a post on my blog that may help you find an alternative to adsense. Also an online poll from other webmasters who have voted on their favorite way to monetize their site.

Just got an answer from Google, started a new discussion:

Sorry to hear that happening to you. I have encountered the incidence that my blog is marked as 'spam' blog and I quickly file a request through adsense contact page for support and in less than 24 hours, I get an email for support. I hope you can do the same to try getting support first.

In the mean time, alternatives are there such as Commission Junction, AdBrite, AuctionAds, PayPerPost, and perhaps many other alternatives. But none of them do the relevant ads matching with your content. I think the closest I will try is on YPN. For samples of Commission Junction and AuctionAds, you can see my tech blog in. Hope it works out for you.

Well....from what I understand you've joined an illustrious crowd of folks. So put a smile on your face and revel in your bannitudedness.

    :))
  22. PetLvr
Well .. unfortunately you have to bow to the Masters and ride this out, but luckily you are working your way towards using other alternative means of earnings. That's why it's always good to NOT keep all your eggs in one basket.

By the way - it does look bad searching discussion groups with your name, on the surface, because most comments or threads relate to "you add me to Fave I'll Fave you" or "you digg me I'll digg you" ... it's almost like implying that (if you could - you would) "if you click my ads I'll click your ads" .... Bottom line is, I think you know if you accidentally clicked on some of your ads -or, deliberately clicked on your ads a lot or have a closeknit group of people with the same IP being overzealous and clicking a lot - and giving Google not only sufficient reason to suspect you, but even afterwards - rejects your appeal.

What were you making .. about $20 then jump to $200 in a month or two?
  23. yarinh
PetLvr, no I actually made a few lousy bucks, and I have no idea how it happend, happen for no reason, read my original post about it:

I use Commission Junction and Bidvertiser and Auction Ads and Ad brite...but you know I have made the most with Adsense...I'm sorry to hear that you got banned!
  25. graceofangels
I clicked on my ads 3 times. But it wasn't my intention to click it coz I know it is illegal in the law of adsense. I don't know I i'll be ban for this. It was just an accident. Wew'z

    1. ladyinfluence
hi grace. inform google adsense immediately about the accidental click. they will appreciate your honesty and will not ban your account. do it asap..

I was also banned from my Adsense last May! But created a new account and I'm in! - www.writinerary.com

Ohhh I try to create new account but name and place ... we must change.

That will not help akuw. They know his IP address.

I was scared to death. When I first started "blogging for money" on one account I explained to some of my friends how getting paid on the internet worked through ads and they were like "Cool!" 5 minutes later they'd come back and say "Ok, I just clicked on it 50 times! How much did you get?!"

Needless to say I never mention internet money anymore.
  29. CallCenterVet
Try bidvertiser. Their ads look almost like adsense.
  30. MCStylin
Sorry to hear about this, I've heard it can be done at Google's discretion and the Publisher has no clue as to the reason they were banned. Some people get reinstated through polite correspondence with Google, but there's no guarantees..

For an alternative, try AuctionAds: www.auctionads.com/refer_4b672c7a82a08b4554e3

Hey for those people who got banned from google this is a must post to read.
  32. Tonylewis
    Hi all,
There have been a lot of topics and articles about this in the past, many have lost their accounts with adsense for no apparent reason and adsense won't tell you why, they just say you've broken the terms and conditions but never specify. Yes a few have got their accounts reinstated but then your flagged and any future fraudelent activity results in an even quicker ban. Some of this is due to people clicking their own ads, if you do this just once adsense can ban you, other times it's a competitor multi-clicking your ads so you lose your account.
What I find amazing is that if people are writing about something they love and get related ads they are going to want to click occasionally so why not let them? It's actually quite simple for them to disregard clicks made by yourself which don't get credited and the advertiser doesn't pay for those clicks so why don't adsense implement this? Also adsense say any invalid clicks will be credited back to the advertiser but i've never seen one piece of proof that this has ever happened and it's been an argument with some people who have had their accounts stopped.Never rely on just adsense for income as it can be taken away quicker than anything.
Yahoo publisher ads are exactly the same (with the same terms)but they pay more than adsense, just another one of the many out there.
    Tony:)
