    To techsnack,

My 2 blogs rose from PR N/A to PR4. My first blog I started Jun 25, 2007. The second Aug 3, 2007 both still got the same PR.

I think the length of blog existence doesn't have anything to do with the PR you're blog's gonna get. But I think the amount of content and the frequency of posting has got something to do with it. Your posts being indexed might be another factor too.

      Hi,
Thanks for your comment. But 1 thing i dont understand. If i just keep writing new posts, will google display them? Because i try to search the post at google, but i cant found them.....Currently i have around 28 posts, but i only manage to found 5/6 of them using google.

I think page rank is based mostly on traffic and link backs. You can post your heart out but if you don't have the traffic, you're not going anywhere. I've had one blog going for almost a year and a half. Traffic has grown steadily but is still very small by most standards. I never even thought about page rank, but when I checked it for the first time recently, I was surprised that it is 4.

      To techsnack,

It will be kinda hard to get indexed with a relatively new blog I must admit. I had the same problem when I started out. It took 2 months for those posts to actually show in the search engine index. Referring to my first blog.

Here's a few suggestions, All of these I do after every post:
      1. Submit the article to digg, reddit, sphinn, dropjack or whatever syndication site you know.
      2. Ping your blog using technorati. It forces their crawlers to check your blog for new content.
      3. Ping other news syndication sites using www.pingoat.com
      4. Use this tool by BluehatSEO www.bluehatseo.com/category/seo-tools/ . What it does is force many websites to check your blog for new content. You can get your page indexed in less than 24 hours ( at least that's what they say... I never made the effort in checking but I think it made some difference )

Another suggestion, if you use Google webmasters tools, set Googlebot crawl rate to faster than normal. The only drawback is it may decrease your blogs loading speed. Not a problem if you don;t have much traffic. You can always set that back to normal anytime. These are the stuff I believe helped my blogs a lot in getting index. Right now it Google show my Olympic blog has 247 pages indexed which it just about the right number. Again, I've only been blogging for than blog for around 2 months.

      I hope that helped.

    Congrats ....

... but your post is actually wrong.

You could have had ads without a 4, and having a 4 doesnt mean you are going to qualify for some ad campaigns. Ad qualification is based upon page impressions and with some companies based upon Alexa. It is not based upon PR for the most circumstances.

People are really, really, wrongly obsessed with Page Rank.

In the hierarchy of importance, it is so unimportant. It is an analytical tool and nothing more.

google pagerank analisys flow like that: first google look thats take english languange or not. if not your pagerank will increase with rapidly from 0 to 3 or 4. second if your page take english languange google will analisys that your content are duplicate form other site if not may your page rank is increase rapidly. tirth there is un uses link or not in your web. like text-link-ads it will kill your pagerank. Forth my be you lucky

Congratulations. I just started a new blog at www.your-personal-best.com and pagerank is gray. Do you know if this is common with new Wordpress blogs? I don't remember it being so on the other ones that I have.
    1. Wystery
Im not too sure tho, I'm using wordpress and I have that when I started too, but I have my pagerank just after 1 week

      Good luck to you
