I thought it might be a good idea to have one for green machines. If you hear of any "green inventions" please post them here so we can discuss them
Green washing machine - UK
A washing machine using as little as a cup of water for each washing cycle could go on sale to environmentally conscious Britons next year. www.enn.com/energy/article/37350
I would definitely consider buying a green washing machine. Would you?

Green computers
Hewlett-Packard's products are engineered from the ground up to be recycled. The company's devices use minimal paint, glue, and lead — materials that become hazardous when recycled — and are designed to be simple for recycling technicians to pull apart. HP's waste reclamation efforts, now two decades old, recently reached the industry-leading milestone of one billion pounds (453.6 million kilograms.
Dell Canada expanded its Plant a Tree For Me plan, under which customers can pay $2.10 per computer notebook or $6.30 per PC to plant a tree to help offset the emissions associated with the electricity that will be used to power the device. The program is run in partnership with The Conservation Fund, Carbonfund.org and Tree Canada.
Panasonic, Sony and Sanyo, have all made headlines recently for initiatives focusing on environmental procurement practices, green manufacturing facilities, and consumer-friendly take-back programs.
I would definitely consider buying a green computer. Would you?-
Green Computers - Everex Green Linux
The Everex Green gPC TC2502 is a low power-consumption Linux desktop that's suitable for less-demanding computing applications. For more business power, check out the Dell OptiPlex Energy Smart line of desktops with power management features and high-efficiency processors. Also, several of Hewlett-Packard's Compaq desktop PCs meet the stringent new Energy Star 4.0 requirements and can save users between $6 and $58 in annual power costs.

Good one Shirley

Green Water Vending Machine
Water Vend is the first and only company in North America that has created an eco-friendly water vending machine. Known as the Azure, this vending machine does not store water in bottles or cans. Rather, the machine pours cold water into a sports bottle supplied by the customer.
The Azure works by filtering tap water into purified water that rivals the most acclaimed bottled water on the market today. Everything undesirable, such as chlorine, unusual odors and tastes are removed instantaneously in the purification process. After purification the customer is given the option to add flavoring as well as carbonation, adding to the allure of the Azure. This means that through the Azure vending machine, customers can get freshly-made club soda, sports drinks or iced tea in seconds.

Green TV's
Sharp is also revisiting the way it makes electronics — its new Kameyama No. 2 television factory just outside Osaka, Japan, is a marvel of environmental manufacturing processes. It sports the largest roof-based solar panel farm on the planet, the building's windows are covered with energy-harvesting solar glass panels, and 100 per cent of the plant's waste water is recycled. Sharp claims that it is the most environmentally friendly television factory in the world.

Green cellphones
Motorola is up to new tricks with its recent patent for a cell phone display that doubles as a solar cell. Apparently, the screen will be able to charge a cell phone's battery when the display is exposed to the sun. Though external solar-powered battery chargers are a reality, this is the first concept we've seen for a cell phone with an integrated solar panel. It's doubtful the phone would get all its juice from the sun. Rather, sunlight probably would power the handset while it's away from an electrical outlet. news.cnet.com/8301-10784_3-9722565-7.html
I would consider buying a solar powered or solar assisted cellphone, would you? -

Definitely want an energy efficient dryer for winter.-
Energy efficient clothes dryers
The best dryers have moisture sensors in the drum for sensing dryness, while most only estimate dryness by sensing the temperature of the exhaust air. Compared with timed drying, you can save about 10 percent with a temperature sensing control, and 15 percent with a moisture sensing control.
Look for a clothes dryer with a moisture sensor that automatically shuts off the machine when your clothes are dry. Not only does this save energy; it reduces wear and tear on clothes caused by over-drying.
Look for a dryer with a cycle that includes a cool-down period, sometimes known as a "perma-press" cycle. In the last few minutes of the cycle, cool air, rather than heated air, is blown through the tumbling clothes to complete the drying process.

Electric lawnmower. If you really want to go green, get a manual push reel mower.
