I was thinking the other day that there's a whole niche market for cards that Hallmark hasn't addressed...

Greeting cards related to blogging!

So I made up some free e-cards that might just give you guys a little laugh... You can check 'em out here:

So tell me-- what kind of blogging occasion would YOU celebrate with a blogging greeting card?

Perhaps a greeting cad to commemorate some milestone (nth) post? 100th, 250th, 500th post.
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
      Yup-- that's a good one!

How about: Congratulations! On your "Dirty monkeys using dwarfs like methodist bitches." search term

*snicker* Maybe a bit too narrow of a market... Might have to have that one be a fill-in-the-blank.
    2. aningeniousname
Well yeah obviously it would say on the actual card: Congratulations! On your Dirty ------- using ------- like methodist -------"
    3. ThriftShopRomantic
So sorta like MadLibs... but not.

Quick ring Parker bros! Blog libs!!!

Probably could come up with quite a few around being Dugg
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
      Probably so.

"Sorry to hear you were banned from Digg"...

"Happy anniversary of the day Digg crashed your site!"
  4. CrystalRaven
    Congratulations on your PR of...
Congratulations on your ....year blog anniversary
    Welcome to the blog community

Yep, there definitely needs to be a bloggiversary card in this line.

How about "I added your blog to my favorites, but I really didn't read it!"?

Or ... "Congrats on not scraping from my blog!".
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
Heh... what's that old phrase about many a truth said in jest?

    lets see....

    Your first stumble...

    Graduation... From Blogger to WordPress

    Moving... To your own servers

    Hitting any blogger top lists

Your first ten+ comment post (and the first 25/50/100+) comment posts as well.

Getting mentioned in an A list bloggers post.

Cool idea. You know there are a couple of open source software apps out there for running ecard sites...
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
Heh, the "Moving... to your own servers" is my favorite! Excellent.

I don't know that I want to start my own ecard site, I just was having fun noodling around with the card images.

The collection will not be complete with out a "404 Sympathy" card
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
      I think you're right!

I suspect the sympathy section in this virtual card store would be quite large.

Very clever idea. Great post, as always, TSR
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
      Thanks, Ekim!

Something that is only applicable to Myspace but..

"Congrats on making the Top Blogs list! Your life is now validated"
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
Heh. While I'm not on Myspace myself, that's a pretty telling glimpse of it right there.
    2. PrincessQuello
Yeah, people were actually CHEATING to get to the top 10.

I got out of there in time
    3. ThriftShopRomantic
Yeah, that's the thing about social media, isn't it? You meet some great folks, and then you also encounter the... other end of the spectrum, too.
    4. PrincessQuello
Yeah. I mean, I'm staying on there to stay in touch with my friends but I refuse to blog there, now that I have my site up.

It's just disgusting. And most of them just write about drama and controversial topics...or things that they know the audience will eat up, instead of staying real.

It was hard to make a difference and get people involved in more important things, though I tried a few times.
    5. ThriftShopRomantic
It's one of those cases where you sorta have to just keep reminding yourself what your goals are, and concentrate the most on the media that fits those goals.

I've pretty much stopped trying to get people to read things through Redditt for some of the same reasons-- it's extremely competitive for reasons beyond my control. And some of the interactions weren't analytical or helpful-- just negative.

      Life's too short.

I wonder when people are going to realize that the internet is a BIG FRIGGIN PLACE!

    Those are classic, Jenn

I may have to do a follow-up post with some extras, since folks have made some good suggestions.
