Yummmmmmmmmm!! Looks delish! Did you see Bobby Flay's Showdown last night? He talked about the many different varieties of peppers, for idiots who have never cooked with peppers before, like me. He gave all their names, most of which I'd never heard before, and explained which are hot, mild, moderately hot, etc. I wish I'd taken notes, because now I don't remember a damn thing. Which gets me to my point - which peppers did you use in this recipe? Duh - I know they're red and green - but there are different kinds, no?

I missed that. There are all sorts of peppers. Poblano, Anaheim, New Mexico, etc. All have a unique flavor both fresh and dried. In this case I used Poblanos, your typical red bell pepper, and jalapenos.

Oh, yeah....thanks. Those are sort of sweet, I believe. I'm going to get over my pepper phobia and try this.

poblanos, anaheim, and new mexico peppers are mildly hot and need to be roasted and skinned before they can be consumed.

That looks good. Just needs some meat

I know...I would choose steak strips but I have to share with my vegetarian lady
    2. dbowles1017
Yeah, that's what I was thinking would be good. Just make your meat separate
    3. dbowles1017
      dbl post
    4. cookingasshole
I just didn't care that much...I should have though

Those look really yummy, CA. You were not *quite* as much of an asshole as you often are. You must be a little tired today.

I know...I am trying to tone it down and make it more mainstream...what do you think?
    2. melindaville
I like the asshole in you. I think that's what's so unique about your blog. Now you're only mildly an asshole. Of course, that kind of raw humor might not be that mainstream . . . . I was always kind of into twisted humor, you know?
    3. cookingasshole
I think I should just be myself and not worry about it, right?
    4. melindaville
Truly--that's the thing. I thought you sounded a little stilted in this one. I say GO for it--be completely yourself--because that is really special and refreshing. There is a special niche for you--you might not be everyone's cup of tea--but you are mine! I think you are really funny--and what's really great is that you actually really know how to cook. Your recipes are great!
    5. cookingasshole
thanks...from now on I will not hold back

No, never consider going mainstream!! Bad, bad idea!
    1. cookingasshole
that is what I was thinking...but I am confused...I have been talking to my family too much
    1. cookingasshole
I just shed a single tear
  7. LisaNYC
You'll be shedding many more if you go mainstream, my friend!
    1. cookingasshole
now I am going to have to listen to barry white for the rest of the day....thanks!
  8. LisaNYC
Good! Maybe the words to that song will sink in before it's too late! Desperate times call for desperate measures.
    1. cookingasshole
now I am listening to "Never Never Gonna Give You Up"
