Hello everyone!

Who here has been a guest blogger? Who has hosted guest bloggers? And how do you choose who to ask?

I'm thinking about eventually having guest bloggers at ustandout.com about social media related topics, so I'd like to hear what your experiences have been like.

I am just beginning to get into it. If all goes well, my first guest blog post should appear next Monday!
It took me while to first build a good relationship with another blogger in my niche. We seem to have a good synergy between our interests. Also, our writing styles seem to be similar.
If this works out for me, I will try to do more of it. I have heard that it is a good strategy for building a network and driving traffic.

If you want to invite guest bloggers, here are few things to remember:

- Your blog PR - you have to offer benefit of PR. For instance, your PR is 4. Your's guest's PR is 1. That makes sense for them to write for your blog.

- Traffic - how many uniques do you have per month and how many feed subscribers? If you have like 100+ subscribers, it totally makes sense for a newbie to write for your blog.

Look at what benefits you can offer in exchange for guest posts.

I just made sure we understood each other very well, understood what was expected and what lines if any could not be crossed.

I am open to guest posts, but in a year and a half I have only had one submitted. I did publish it, and it drew some favorable comments. I would be happy to have others if anyone wanted to offer. I don't have time to write for other blogs at this point.
