Ever made a handmade gift for a special someone?

Me and my boyfriend's first anniversary is coming up! I want to do something handmade for him but not a scrapbook... too corny! I want something creative, and witty, and well... a little corny but sweet. Any suggestions? Or maybe you could share something that you've done for a loved one without spending too much on it? Cooking is out. I can't cook to save my life and he knows it.

Make him a coupon book...

With things like:

A) Coupon good for one cooked dinner of your choice
B) Coupon good for one massage - wherever whenever and however you like
C) Coupon good for one FREE car wash (yes - I will wash your car)
D) Coupon Good for One Night Out with the Boys and I won't complain

and so on - you can base it on whatever suits your marriage/relationship

Also - depending on what his interests are

For example: If he is a carpenter - and has a messy toolbox - and lots of nails and screws laying around - you could make an organizer for him out of jars...

Or you could make him a tool rack...

You have to be creative based on his needs and interests.

I mean - some guys would love a home made porno
Some would love a home cooked meal
Some would love their work space or garage cleaned up
Some would just like a quiet night at home...

SO it all depends on you and your honey.

I bought a couple old Scrabble games at garage sales and glued words onto a Scrabble board that meant something to us. Memories, family members, inside jokes, romantic phrases, etc.
We still have it on the wall in the rec room

is there something you do together that you love? concerts, sports, card playing, etc? maybe go from that?

He likes music (I can't buy him a CD because he prolly already has it), and guitars. His second love is his car (I hope I'm first, hahaha).

my ex loves basketball, but both of us are students & couldn't really afford to go to a professional game, so for his birthday one year i packed up some beers & chips & other sports food in a cooler and we went to the park and watched basketball in the park.

it was awesome.
