MY favorite is still a greasy cheeseburger and chocolate milk. A friend of mine believes that you simply have to believe that hangovers don't exist, wake up in the morning, and carry on with your life.

Ah hangover cures. I was an alcoholic for a long time and kicked it without the need for AA or rehab, thank god.
First off, avoid those "Morning Cure" pills, all they are is expensive vitamins and people tend to depend on them to do everything.
The thing about alcohol is it robs your body of vitamins, nutrients and it dehydrates you. The "Hangover" you're getting is both withdrawals from alcohol (It gets addicting really fast) and the fact that you lost a great deal of nutrients. They always say the best way to beat a hangover is to have a drink, that's why.
Best thing you can do though is replace everything that the alcohol destroyed. Eat some fruit, burnt toast, multi-vitamins, drink a lot of water and gatorade and get rest. Don't have coffee or tea with caffeine in it, worst thing; it'll just dehydrate you more and make your problems worse. Unless you're having peppermint or chamomile tea, it's probably useless..One thing people won't tell you is that caffeine is a killer for having a hangover, mostly because they don't know about that fact. Looks like you won't be having that morning cup of coffee if you want to get well within a reasonable period of time!
You know you have a drinking problem when you get completely hammered and have to work the next morning. A few hours of a good time just isn't worth losing work the next day or trying to sweat through it. If you have a hangover though, DO NOT try to work; you're just making it harder on yourself. You did the crime, do the time and take the loss of a day's worth of pay. Don't like it? Drink on the weekend and use moderation... -

My late brother-in-law, was an recording artist/entertainer and performed floor shows. One of his jokes/statements was this:
"I feel sorry for people that don't drink ... 'cause that's as good as they're going to feel all day long."
Being young and naive it took me years before I understood the meaning.
Loud noises in the morning are not helpful

Sorry, but maybe you should learn a bit of respect. Every thread I see you in a thread you do nothing but hijack it with nothing but brain dead comments, so, no I am not drunk and yes you should have a bagel.
-
Uh huh...So let me get this straight..
I've never seen you post before, you make a wise comment saying I "Should have a brain", and you accuse me of making brain-dead comments, despite the fact that I was offering advice how to realistically deal with a hangover, and your idea is to post off-topic in fragmented english and tell people to eat bagels to "Absorb Alcohol". Nevermind the fact that the "Reply" button is an impossible concept.
Oh wait, you're from New York. That explains it..Nevermind. -
Rozie, River's responses in this thread actually explain some things that have been bothering me across several recent discussions. The kind of "my opinion is the only one" hostility out of nowhere that's been baffling me is classic of alcoholics and addicts who have given up their drugs of choice without any actual recovery. Kind of a relief, actually, to know it's just an illness at work.

River,
I sort of stop posting since you have been hijacking threads.
( and others as well), you always got nothing to say and no where to bring it.
You have never seen me post, that is a good thing.
I responded because your comment (Absorb what booze?)
not what else you have wrote, because I just bypass that crap now.
Yes, I am from NY, where you from? Can't be any place better.
And yes, eating a bagel will absorb the booze in your blood stream, and the water, as I said.
(and your idea is to post off-topic in fragmented english) Huh? English (caps)
Off topic?
MX, you have noticed as well, -
Drinking surgary drinks usually give me hangovers. But the easiest way to get rid of a hangover the next morning is to re-hydrate your body with water. The bigger the headache the more water you need. Really its as simple as that. Your body gets dehydrated and you need to refill yourself with fluids. Or you can just keep drinking beers, I hear that works too.
