Today is the first day of spring for the northern hemisphere and first day of fall for the southern hemisphere. It's the midpoint between the longest and shortest days of the year.

For me it's spring. The dormant lawn is starting to show a little green. We've had songbirds for about two weeks now. Saw some crocuses blooming yesterday.

On the other hand, it snowed last night!!!!!!!!!

Tell me about your first signs of spring or fall...

It's so beautiful here! The sun is out and I am dreading having to do chores today instead of enjoying the sunshine.

The first signs of spring are the appearance of arms and legs again after a long winter hidden under layers and layers and layers.

The other day, I was horrified at the site of a woman's legs totally unshaven. She looked like a wolf cub. OMG.

Time to start shaving again, I guess! Maybe the good weather caught her unprepared and she hoped no one would notice her winter legs! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Spring! It's been 85 degrees for the past week here in Los Angeles, CA!

You are making me homesick for the warmer weather. But here in PA we have millions of crocus, daffodils, tulips and hyacinths. Everyone plants them. It's so beautiful here in the spring.

We are experiencing the late night early morning low clouds and fog that are typical for spring on the California coast that keep the afternoon from heating up too much. It's cool and without the biting cold that we get in the early winter. Some of the trees are leafing and it's almost time for transplanting those tomatoes. Strawberries soon! Woohooooo!

I sure remember the fog, especially when I lived in Ventura!!!!

I did enjoy staying in Ventura years ago, bicycling up the canyon to Ojai and east to LA. Fog can be magickal in that area.

All the seasons are more or less the same over here.

    A bit more rain here,
    a bit more sun there,
    deadly hurricanes, everywhere.

Happy first day of Spring to you, too It was beautiful--sunny but cool (yay! low humidity). I love these kind of days, hopefully it our spring, here, won't turn into a mini-summer

The daffodils have started growing; the football pitch behing my house has rows of them all around the edges and it's beautiful. Now my house is also full of them as my kids pick bunches of daffodils everyday on their way home from school and they make my home smell nice.

So far this year in Ireland we have been blessed with a lovely spring; it's just a pity summer never seems to make its way here!
