Happy News!

Since blog catalog was where I got my start blogging and since it is my favorite blogging site (by far), I wanted to share three pieces of happy news I have this week.
First (and best), I have a literary agent for my book. I met with him yesterday and he is going to represent my memoir. I am really excited about this because he seems very dedicated to helping get my book published.
Second, I got a great review on my Melindaville Blog this week--from a site that is known for its harsh reviews. Ask and Ye Shall Receive reviewed my blog here: iwillfuckingtearyouapart.blogspot.com/2009/05/she-doesnt-need-to-shut-up-sh...
Third, my Google page rank increased 1 point some time in the last few months (I haven't checked for awhile). I don't really understand what the importance of PR is but the Melindaville Blog got increased to 4, which I think is pretty good for a blog that is less than a year old (although Melindaville is going to have her birthday very soon!).
Anyway, I wanted to share some happy news with all of you. So many people here have helped me in blogging (thanks in particular to Timethief who really helped me so much while I was just starting out).
Thanks everyone! Woo HOO! This week has me flying like a damn frisbee!

My sincere congratulations - getting an agent is particularly good news: while it doesn't solve all problems, it means you are now playing in an entirely different league. Well done.

Thank you, GC. I am fortunate, I know. I did have the help of a friend--so I didn't get an agent completely on my own. As with so many things, it was quite serendipitous.

Thank you, Claire! I have been ill/traveling/working too hard, which is why I haven't been on as much. Although SUMMER is here now (YAY!) so I will have more time once my classes finish up.
I am thrilled beyond words that this agent wants to represent my book. And he is a good agent--not a schmuck.
Yes, I know that 'Ask and Ye Shall Receive' usually tear people a new one I wanted to see what they might say about my blog--and was amazed! I thought they also gave me some good suggestions on the title and a few other things--although I didn't get the reviewer saying I should say "color" when the play on words wouldn't work as well! ('Wild women don't die--they simply DYE their hair' makes so much more sense than 'Wild women don't die--they simply COLOR their hair.'
But I forgive Miss VonDoom for her failure to recognize my play on words. After all, she gave me a great (non) review. -
Well I hope it all goes towards making the foundation a true reality.

1. Congratulations on getting an agent. I really hope that you publish your memoir as soon as possible (it would be wonderful if it was available in bangladesh also...).
2. Congratulations on getting that rather nice review.
3. I really love your blog and am really happy that you've got promoted to pr 4.
BTW, Timethief has also helped me (still helps me) to understand the basics of blogging. I'd never get tired of thanking her... :D.
