Hi Everyone,
I've recently joined Twitter and Facebook and was wondering how many of you have done the same and whether this has helped in promting traffic to your blog or site?

I let go Facebook because it is too embarassing to reveal myself there too much

Twitter is a good thing. It brings me a lot of readers!

Facebook hasn't given me much traffic yet as i didn't put much effort into it. Twitter is bringing in some traffic definitely. But try reddit, it brings much traffic! ;-)

    Hope this helps!

I definitely get hits off of twitter and facebook. I'm not sure why my friends who hit off of there don't just subscribe, but I guess they figure I'm going to update anyway, so they'll just wait.

I've received a decent bit of traffic from Facebook. It's currently my third-largest referrer. Not so much from Twitter.

I cut off facebook. Twitter has been pretty good.

Twitter did not bring any traffic into my blog because for each and every twit sent, I sent along the hyperlink where I got the quotes from.

I do not get any traffic from Facebook as my blog feeds directly into FB. My FB friends can read all my entries without leaving FB.

I have a link posted on my facebook to my blog, but I'm not sure how many people have checked it out. Occasionaly, I'll post a link, but don't feel the need to beat my friends over the head to go to my site. It's there if they want to read it.

Have generated more traffic from being on BC.

Facebook too brings some traffic but what is the use cos they won't find anything in a personal blog.

I receive the most traffic from Facebook and blogcatalog, hardly any from twitter probably because I don't have many twitter friends. Facebook traffic freaks me out a little bit because I find it weird that my real life friends do take stalking to another level!

Facebook has been very helpful in promoting my blog. I am not on Twitter. Yet.

yes. about 50% comes from facebook. mind you, a lot of people add me on there so it probably wouldn't be as much if I only had 50 FB friends. I just recently joined twitter, and blog views are up by 50 visitors per day from just twitter.

I had one of my blog followers mention my blog in a Tweet, so I got a couple of hits from that. My Facebook gets a few, but usually just when I'm talking to a friend and I mention a post I've recently done - then they just click through to it from my Facebook page.

At Facebook blogs are ignored. Facebook even has a blog but try to find it on the site. However, third-party applications, on your page can create a buzz about your blog and there are plenty to choose.

Twitter creates traffic everywhere if you are followed/follow the niche of your tweets subject and consistent it matches your blogs. Find people in your niche with keyword searches at search.twitter.com and introduce yourself after you start following them.

Finally, the author of www.problogger.net, Darren Rouse of Australia, has started a blog called www.twitip.com. Everything you want to know about tweet etiquette and business from a man with a blog in the internet's TOP 10 BLOGS OF ALL TIME. (pRObLOGGER).

I'm pretty new to twitter, so just looking around. Havent started taking it seriously, yet.
