   I moved here December 2007 from America after visiting here twice before. I live in Davao with my now wife. I have tryed Duran one and do not think I will ever again.

   I'm Davao-born but currently living in Sweden. Hubby and I were there summer of 2007 but I never heard of MyHotelDavao. I love Durian!

   Oh, about the taste and smell. They say here "Durian, smells like hell but tastes like heaven" For me, Durian smells like 3 week old garbage or 3 week unwashed underarms. The taste has a sickly sweet taste to me, but coats the tongue and stays like garlic does.

   Durian is very delicious. It's exotic. And I actually don't find the smell pungent. I wouldn't discourage anyone from tasting it.

   IF you think Durian smells bad, try Marang. My neice brought one home the other night and it almost made me sick. I would not kiss my wife after she ate it and made her bruch her teeth before we kissed.

   Davaoenos like myself love Durian. The fruit symbolizes Davao and its people. The smell and taste may not be for everyone, yes, but it's something that you should try.
