Have you changed the way you use Facebook?

I was wondering how many of you have changed the way you use Facebook since its redesign? I've basically stopped using it and the only reason I haven't deleted my account is because I want access to photos and in case I need to contact people I have no other way of contacting.
I used to use facebook all the time, but now it seems to be crammed full of ads and spam, which, combined with the need to go to new pages for everything, has made the site unusable for me. I also object to the way that Facebook has dealt with criticism and the underhand ways they have used to silence people (deleting posts/statuses, removing people from groups etc) and the way that they changed everyone's privacy settings without telling people. They seem to be a very unethical company.
Has your experience been similar or do you use it the same way you always have/more?

I've changed the way I use it, though I actually like the redesign, and probably use it more now. Most of the information I want is on the main page now and I generally ignore all applications and ads. I skim through the news feed, and then read the status updates to see if there's anything interesting going on. Then if I have time, I check my groups. Groups are the thing I dislike on fb - I hate having to click on groups, click on Show all my groups, and then click on an individual group to see if there's been any discussion.

I'm new to Facebook, actually. And while there are some features I think could be helpful, particularly for a blogger, there are some that seem so juvenile it almost is startling.
Whatever this ad/survey facility that comes up with messages like "Two people in YOURCITY want to meet you and three think you're stupid/an idiot, etc."
What the heck kinda thing is that? It's like it was designed by 12 year olds, for 12 year olds...
I'd find it funny if it didn't seem like some sort of bigger metaphor for the way social media is conducted.
