Both, frequently. The only problems I have ever had were with international transactions; I no longer sell to buyers outside the U.S.

International shipping can be a problem--customs sometimes holds things up for a long time and there's no way to track the location of the shipment, which makes buyers uneasy. The last straw for me, though, was a Canadian who emailed and asked me to ship to a U.S. address, then claimed that the item was broken but refused to take it back to the post office for insurance inspection because he didn't want to make another trip across the border! I actually believe that this was part of an ongoing scam, as he refused to produce the item for inspection but demanded a refund. After a couple of emails back and forth I just let him know that any time he wanted to take the item in for inspection, I'd reimburse him and make an insurance claim, but if he wouldn't cooperate with the insurance claim I had nothing further to say...and I never heard from him again. Left me disinclined to invite the same possibilities in the future, though.

I've only been a buyer...bought Wii for my son for Christmas. Excellent experience...no probs. My Aunt & Uncle live off of their Ebay earnings...and they only sell used items from garage sales/auctions and crafts they make!

Yup. All my video games for the past few years have come from there due to the fact that my parents don't give me money anymore. It's probably the only practical way I can spend my Paypal money (other than putting it back into my websites/blogs/etc).
It's also a lot lower than retail price, which is always good. -

I just bought anime dvds the other night. You can find some very good deals on items and save a ton Vs. what you would spend at stores near you.

You CAN save money, if you bid shrewdly, know your limits and don't forget about shipping. But you can also end up paying a lot more than you would for the same item elsewhere, even new, just because of the bidding mentality that sets in. I often have to end my auctions early because people are bidding more than the retail price of the item I'm selling.

I have purchased and sold many things on Ebay. I don't think I've had any bad experiences. Just be sure to read the description completely, and pay attention to shipping charges.
If I'm wanting to purchase large items, such as furniture, I use Craig's List. I like that it's categorized by region/city, and I can see the items in person before committing to a purchase.
