A Brand New Head for Christmas
OK, not the whole head. Just part of it. The outside part, former residence of what used to be my hair.
For Christmas I received a "professional hair-cutting kit," which is nice, except for the fact that I'm an amateur when it comes to cutting hair and the kit does not cut hair by itself.
I hate getting my hair cut, so it had been a while since I had sat in the barber's chair and let a virtual stranger wield scissors near the part of my body that houses my brain, eyes and other key parts of the human body. I decided that I would cut my own hair from now on. Why not? I did it as a teenager and there are no bad teenager ideas.

I did my last hair cut myself. (And shaved my hair for 2 years before that, but that doesn't count as a hair cut, I don't think.) I only needed a bit of trimming and I though that if I went to a hair dresser, they would give me "my money's worth" and cut more than I was willing to shed. (I'm desperately growing my hair back.) It turned out alright, but I really need to do something with it again... Maybe a pro this time?

Yes--I have made the huge mistake of cutting my own hair--but thankfully haven't done that for years. I used to get drunk and high and then think I needed a makover. Unfortunately, I didn't have the skill to undetake it myself! Now, I rely on my good friend and hairdresser, Joel of Isa's Salon in San Francisco to keep me looking my best!

OMG! yes...lol..when I was 15 or so, Rock-a-billie came back, and my hair was down past my shoulders. I decided I wanted it short, and I took the scissors and whacked it right off and to my surprise, I did a hell of a job. I got all kinds of compliments. But that was the last time I ever did that again.

Funny story - I had long hair all my life. My first year of college, I was so sick of it I asked my roommate to cut it off. She said she had cut hair before...she lied! Over the next two hours we struggled to get it even and I lost a lot of hair. Then a few months later, it was all gone to a pixie cut.
Moral of the Story - Don't let your roommate cut your hair if she has no experience! -

I always cut my own hair. After a few butcher jobs when I was very young I never let anyone touch my hair. I got so I could cut it, even the back, without using a mirror, I'd done it so many times. Did it all by feel. I'm not a beautician but it looked so good people were always asking me to cut their hair. Now my hair is really long and I only trim the ends. Happy cutting!!

OK the cat's out of the bag, I USE A FLOWBEE! in fact just yesterday. I originally bought it 18 yrs ago to cut my dogs hair. Now my dogs dead I can't justify spending 15 bucks for a hair cut when I can suck it right off the top of my head. I wish all my investments paid off so well. WARNING: Flowbee not to be used by the fashion conscious.

I always cut my own hair...have been cutting it myself since I was 14...last time I went to a hairdresser was 5 years ago. I have never had a haircut from someone else that I liked...so I figured that if I'm going to have bad hair, I should at least have it for free! Though I'm usually always happy with my handiwork...it's just the in-between stages that I don't like...

You can cut your own hair without mistakes by using the AirCut (www.aircut.com). It comes with stylers that don't fall off and does not attach to a vacuum cleaner, it is self-contained and handheld so you can take it anywhere. Even fits in a suitcase. I am promoting yes, but as they say, I don't just work for the company, I'm also a customer.
