I just posted some more info on our bees and a few pics. How may on you have bees or wanted to know about them. They are dying off at an alarming rate. It is something to think about.

When I was an early teen, a few people I know threw rocks at a beehive and I was stung by bees a multiple of times. I have always hated bees ever since.

I havent gotten stung the first time. and other bugs and I do not get along at all. I am ok with these as long as they stay where they are and do not come in the house

I thought about it but didn't think I had the patience to take care of them. My sister kept about two hives on their property and found them to aid in the fertilization/pollination of their fruit trees. So she has had lots of success with them. She has more time though, being a homeschooling mom of a teenager, they can take care of the bees as part of their science education.

Anything with more than four legs is evil.

I have to make an exception when you get honey out of the deal.

I am allergic to SOME bees.

I carry an epi pen with me when we go anywhere in the woods and keep one in the car and in the house at all times.

My dog found out he was when he tried to eat a few. He got sick for a few days and doesnt go near them again.

I have ... and we've talked some about it. The majority of my weight is solely due to my love of peanut butter and honey toast/sandwiches growing up and through to today!!

Need the right property to do it though - it's not gonna happen where I'm currently living.

I knew someone who did it, and he was saying that finding a queen bee can be quite difficult - and of course you need a queen bee in order for the others to start making a hive.

yep if you have to order a queen they are around $30 and you have to pay rush shipping on them.

Yep I know first hand the lengths that need to be taken when ordering insects and the like through the mail - its at the buyers risk and you just have to hope that the forwarding/transport company take care with the package.

yep bought chickens, ducks and guineas thru the mail. All but the guineas have done great
