I did it once. This was before dating site. I met someone who had an attitude that was fun in a chat room and decided to meet up with her. Attitude when read for a few minutes a day and be really funny. Attitude over an hour and a half meal was painful. By the time the salad came, I was ready to call it off. I tried to be nice and continue the date but I don't think she had fun either.

That's when you go to the bathroom, tell a friend to call you and say your aunt is in the hospital. Then you have an excuse to leave

I met a girl who was greta through email ando n the phone but when we finally went to dinner she kept up the good work until in the middle of the main course asked what my blood type was cause she needed to know in case something bad happened. yeah, so never again lol

Hahah, that was a weird one.

No but online dating is really, really a craze these days in South East Asia, especially Thailand and Philippines.

Yeah, I am a big online dating fan. I found my husband on an online dating site. I also found a lot of cool men that were not quite right, but a lot of fun anyway. You just have to know what you are looking for and that's a great hmm.. Hate to use the word tool in the context, but lacking a better one...

      you said tool, hehe

Online dating is fun. I met my b/f there. He is a major catch and I think we will get married. I am a little shy, so in the real world, I don't always approach the men I'm interested in the most. Online dating is such an ego boost. I would get up to 75 emails a day in my inbox from potential dates. From online dating, I have dated extremely hot, intelligent, successful, fun men that I know I would not have found the usual way. I had no negative experiences at all.

I met one girl through online dating. She was nice enough but a little overbearing too early in the relationship. I won't blame the site though, I have nothing bad to say about it.

I've met a lot of my friends online, whether it was dating or just friendship. I don't join dating sites but I'm on social networks a lot. I met the love of my life online through a radio station's message boards. You get to know the person before you meet them (If they're honest) so it's been great for me.

I've dating guys I met online too. If you're smart about it, you could meet all the right people.

Nope. I wouldn't mind trying it when I get back into the "field" though.

@mpdzombie....does that mean you planning an exit strategy with a current girlfriend?
    2. EXZombie
No no, If I had a girlfriend right now I wouldn't even be here as much. Right now I'm just focusing on getting some things done for myself before I jump back out there.

I tried online dating for 3 months with Match.com. I figured if I ordered pizza, contacts, and tons of other things online, why not a boyfriend too? This is a post of all my funny thoughts during the process:

    Enjoy!

Eh, I think that list right there made me scratch online dating out of the things to do in 2009 list for sure.

I'd most likely be filtered out just on my picture alone. For some reason every picture I take makes me look like I'm on AMW's Top 10 List.

Alright - so the other day, I setup an online dating profile for the first time ever and I just received my first response. She's kind of a babe, too.

What do you say after you've both established contact? "Hi there. I'm a total stranger, you are too - wanna do something? I've never killed anyone."

This is a foreign concept to me, and no - I'm usually never awkward around women. I have to get past this online dating stigma. In the back of her mind she's probably thinking, "This creep was totally trolling for ass online."

I met my husband on line.

I did the online thing back in 1997-98. I met many women and drove distances to met them in person.

The trick is to meet them in person fast, a perception can create quickly in the mind of how you want them to be and look, then once you meet in person it can be a major shock, although not always.

Yes, I have tried. My experience is: 1) my marriage with help of online dating site; 2)two marriages of my friends whom I found matches online

I havent but my Ex did and met his now wife there. It must have worked because they have been together 7 years and have not split yet. I met my hubby thru a friend at work. I still owe him for that.
