I shop a lot at stores that sell used-books and I have found a few things like and old receipt, a mosquito, etc. But today I got the weirdest. I just found a business card for a "Forensic Philosophy" specialist...I don't even know what that means.

So, have you found something weird or funny inside a book?

A booger, but I guess that's more gross than funny.

    Money.

I once bought a bunch of books at a flea market and found a $5 bill in one volume...I suppose it had been used as a bookmark.

Not a bad deal, since I was paying about a quarter each for the books!

Sweet! You actually got the books for free, nice!

I remember getting a text book in school that was previously owned by my sister when she was in that grade. It had her name in it, and for some reasons I was really excited about that.

How about losing a book and buying a used one only to find your name on it? Does that count?

      WOW! That was weird, definitely!

That is super wierd and reminds me of the John Cusack movie "Serendipity." And also "Definitely, maybe" did something about finding a used book with the characters name on it.

I saw a few pictures in a book once.

    That was pretty weird.

Not me. But at the public library where my wife works a patron found a thousand dollars in an old psychology book and actually turned in the money. Apparently, part of a drug transaction that went awry.

The book "King Dork" uses notes found in used books as a major plot point, and I loaned my copy of "King Dork" to a guy I was dating. When the book was finally returned to me by his friend, a year or so later, the friend said "I found this in the book," and handed me a love letter I'd written to the guy.

My copy of "The Captain is Out to Lunch" had a passage circled with the note "please read this at my funeral."

I have found notes tucked in, phone numbers, and receipts, that I found funny at the time but can't remember now.

If you ever happen on an old book of mine, you'll probably find a receipt or two in it...they make cheap, handy bookmarks!

yeah, i always have receipts in my books as book marks...a lot of time the receipt for purchase of the book, so if you ever find mine, you can just return it to the bookstore and get something else!

I've read some really weird crap, if that counts.

When I was working in the library retagging the books we found a photo of a naked young man with his backside to the camera! We thought it was so funny that we left it in the book! The Greek philosophy students will have gotten a surprise!

Jajajajaja, that's awesome! I can see a super-serious philosophy student with his eyes out, looking at the picture.

I came across a book that had random words circled throughout. If you started from the beginning and read them in order, it was actually a really sweet love note.

I once found a baseball card (Bud Harrelson's, to be precise) in a library book.
