Wondering if any bloggers also have had this problem that's just popped up. First, all my blog images have appeared on google within a few weeks of being published. However, when my first page of blog posts reached its' 10 post quota and my earlier posts started appearing on a new page 2, all those images (except a special case) on page 2 instantly disappeared from google, although the accompanying posts did not. The wordpress forum said it was bcause google bots could no longer find those images with their new page 2 URLs.

If this has happened to anyone else, how have you solved it?

Getting an answer from google is about as easy as climbing Everest barefoot.

If my problem description isn't clear, blog is

I've never heard of this before. Can you give me the link to the support forum thread?

Hmmmm... Did you give those images the full SEO treatment?
Keywords in TITLE tag, ALT tag Description tags

The Google crawler cannot read image scripts and therefore using the ALT attribute (providing a description) will allow you to tell the crawler what the image is referring to. If you want your images to be indexed by the search spiders then give your images the full treatment (TITLE tag, ALT tag Description). Also note the image crawler is a slow crawler that can take up to 6 months to return.

All the images had already been running on google for a few months and had brought fair amount of traffic to my site. And in my case it's only taken google a few weeks to pick up images, whereas posts take only minutes.

And since the only images that disappeared from google were those appearing on my new page 2, I think wordpress forum had it right that the image's new URLs are the culprits.
