I developed my own system that worked pretty dang good.
That entails, waking up at 5:30 in the morning, having a Slim Fast, going to the gym, then around 8:00 or 8:30 I have a healthy breakfast. The healthy breakfast usually entails multi grain toast, some type of fruit, an egg, and probably yogurt and/or cottage cheese. Then, just eat healthy all day (eating smaller portions instead of big meals) and try to snack healthy throughout the day. -
I have never been on a diet. I do not fry anything in oil, or almost never. I am not a health nut, but I eat a pretty healthy diet and I don't usually have sweets in my house. Even when I don't exercise, I don't usually put on any weight. I currently belly dance and run (not at the same time-I don't wanna say that too loud and give my dance instructor ideas about new ways to torture my class).

I once tried to put on weight, I ate a packet of biscuits everyday for a few months and had weight gain powder . I gave up on it it, 2 weeks later I put on a bit of weight and am bhappy. -
It's important to remember that losing fat and losing weight aren't always the same thing. I weighed 207 in November. Since then, I've started biking 100 miles a week and doing intense vinyasa yoga classes multiple times a week. I'm now wearing large instead of x-large t-shirts and need a belt for pants that were so tight I could barely put them on this winter. And last time I weighed myself, I found the needle stopping on...217. I lost a lot of fat, but gained more muscle.

To maintain my health & weight, I don't deny myself cheesecake or the other delights of life. I also typically get enough sleep. I go out hiking whenever I can, but that's more for enjoyment than "exercise." Most importantly, though, I don't stress about health, weight or much of anything, for that matter. I'd rather live a shorter life that includes chicken wings, etc. than a longer one without. I also make sure NOT to go to the doctor, whose business is illness, after all (not to mention that my Dr.'s a boob.)

Am just sensible. Had to give up eating meat a couple of years ago and haven't looked back, I feel so much better and lost loads of weight. I just have easy control buttons in my head and don't crave unhealthy stuff. I know I'm pretty lucky with this and understand it's not that easy for everyone. Also a very active job helps with the exercise.

Because I work online for a solid 8 hours a day - then end up right back on here again for entertainment... I have to watch out for "chair butt". You guys know what I'm talking about - where an otherwise trim woman looks like she swallowed an inner tube and it stuck right around her middle! LOL
I only drink water while parked in this chair - take breaks ever 30 minutes and stand and stretch - and never NEVER never eat a meal at the computer.
I don't "exercise" in the routine way - but we live on a large farm so I get plenty every morning and evening feeding the livestock, walking horses, and such.
Otherwise - I just try to eat healthy
Which cookies are healthy... they are... sure they are.

I run, hike, lift weights, cross train using Tabata Protocol and dynamic body weight exercises with some MMA. For the brain, I meditate, practice deep breathing and visualization.
Nutrition wise, I use Superfood supplements, naturally derived multi-vitamin and calcium supplements. My body fat stays at a consistent 6.5-6.9% through intelligent effective eating and exercise. I usually exercise 4 to 5 days a week, preferably in the morning but will do it whenever I can even if just for 10 or 15 min. which can be very effective.
If anyone is interested, I wrote a health & wellness book called Live Smart that is available on Lulu.com or from my blog. I have helped change peoples lives with these health and fitness strategies for over twenty years and I hope they help you. I also did a post on the Tabata Protocol if your interested. Have a great week.
