HELP- Am looking for good Acoustic Music with Social Conscience

Topics: music with a heart
As stated above, I've decided to start blogging about Social Issues like save the Watermelon, Lonely Chickens, Two yoked eggs or other real serious stuff.
If you know of any musicians who write good quality acoustic guitar music which has a conscience (not political please), it would be great to hear of it
Thanks Tony

Although I wouldn't say that her guitar skills are great, Lucy Kaplansky sings about the ties that bind us as families, citizens, and human beings. The recording The Red Thread was inspired by Kaplansky's marriage to fellow wordsmith Rick Litvin and their recent adoption of a baby girl from China. But the best songs on the record are the ones that move outside the nuclear family and explore the longer threads that connect us to society.

I dislike the twang in the voice but the Flatlanders are quickly becoming more a band than a legend. In 2002, Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Butch Hancock returned to writing and recording as a unit for the first time in 30 years. Now Again was a watershed, but Wheels of Fortune feels even stronger, more organic, more lived-in.

You may like Mary Flower. sure do. Her guitar playing is clean and she has a warm contralto voice. In Ragtime Gal Mary Flower finds the sweet spot between modern and rootsy in 12 tunes bred of back porches, parlors, street corners, juke joints, and country churches.

"I Apologize" is dedicated to the First Nation’s victims and survivors of the cultural genocide which occurred in Canada for over a century. No apology can heal the wounds caused by the far reaching effects of the residential school system. I can only add my voice as a member of the generation who allowed this abuse to take place. -
Veda Hille is not exactly what you are looking for but I think she's great. vedahille.com/about/
Duplex! Worser.
At last, the new record from the laziest band in showbusiness. More rock songs for small people and their minders! Topics covered: noble gases, sandwich making, photosynthesis, same-sex divorce, dogs in sweaters.
