I'm in the mood - long overdue - for a new template for my blog. Easy enough to upload html code (don't worry - I saved original template to hard drive - and have kept it for now).

My problem is trying to understand when the new template warns that all my widgets are about to be deleted. How do I keep the widgets, as is on the new template???

Copy the code for them all, and then re-add them

Wait - some widgets on blogger, especially lists of other sites/pages, don't have a straightforward html code to copy - is there a way to get around copying every single link individually?

Go to the template, and click the expand widgets button (or something like that) and it will add the HTML for all your widgets

db- or anyone - so I expand the widgets - do I have to go through the template's html code to find each widget's code?

Yeah. Just search for whatever you named the widget, and it should get you to that widgets HTML

You could back up your old template so that if you make a mistake or something, you could always go back to it.

Be sure that you have a proper backup previous template, otherwise you'll get troubled.
These html widgets are not added according to their brand name to blogger.
You can simply find it with an number,in which order you added those.Do expand widgets in blogger edit html page.Go to these respected numbers that holds every widgets, backup them all.Even after then, you have chance to loose the 'read more' and other javascripted widgets.Go google and give a try,for more and wide help
