Help! I've lost all inspiration!

Topics: blog, inspiration
I need a blogger's pick up! Ever since taking a break from blogging last week in order to complete a charity walk I've lost all inspiration for new posts.
I simply don't know what I to write about.
I see things in the news, but they're usually something to do with agreeing with or disagreeing with conservatives, or there's stuff on the environment but, what's the point?
Help me BC!

Don't let that discourage you. Sometimes you don't receive feedback, but people are still interested.
Nobody seemed interested in the conventions I announced I would be attending, but after I posted a schedule of future conventions, I had a few people say they're interested in meeting me at one of them. Otakon, specifically.

Bravo! It is common. I decided to take a vacation from my blogs. I'm tired and I working hard on a article for a magazine. For a person who has fibromyalgia as me I know sometimes I have to focus just in on thing in order to be ready to come back do my blogs. Don't worry, you will want to write soon if you don't think very much about it. I will see you soon. Good luck.

Can it be about anything? How about a commentary on something non-political .. e.g.
Our local police issued a warning for people to be on the lookout when backing out of their driveways, and notice a piece of paper on the back window - most likely a gas receipt or something. This prompts the owners to get out of their car to see what the receipt is, and then they get carjacked.-
HA! I love that, some criminals are geniuses. Anyway, I think I've found something, for now at least. Just posted a blog on the 10:10 campaign: theiratedog.blogspot.com/2009/09/1010-campaign.html

perhaps post about how you've lost inspiration and ponder where inspiration comes from.
I love the quote from Patanjali that goes something like:
"When you're inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project ...... Dormant forces, faculties and talents come alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be" -
I used to have an environmental news blog that was focused on breaking news in the niche. I published more than once daily in it and was very committed. Within a year I had had my fill of the blah, blah, blah that emanated from climate chnage deniers, conspiracy theory spinners, and trolls, who were fixated on fighting, and making inflammatory and defamatory comments. I deleted the blog which had a PageRank of 5 and was in the top 15,000 in it's niche because I no longer felt inspired to write for it and in retrospect I don't regret it a bit.
I have some ideas for bloggers suffering from writer's block in posts in my blog that may inspire you or may not. At the very least they provide approaches you can use to produce posts while you make a decision about which direction to go with your blogging. I'd like to suggest that if you blog about a subject you are passionate about, as opposed to one that just interests you, you may be making an more inspired choice.

@iratedog
(1) I did NOT state that I was leaving BC. Others may have done so, but I sure as HADES did NOT make such a statement.
(2) I'm glad to hear that you consider the content that you found at the links to my posts to be excellent. Just hearing that made me feel GREAT! so thanks for the feedback and best wishes for happy blogging. -
There have been many discussion threads in the last couple of weeks. Some of which were locked Admin and others of which were deleted by Admin. I have copies of them all. Trust me when I say I never made an I'm leaving BC statement in a forum thread or elsewhere.
I'm actually here to
(1) promote my blogs;
(2) locate other blogs related to my own;
(3) and to locate blogs on subjects of interest to me.
Aside from being a community donor, the contribution I make to the BC community is to answer blogging questions, and as one of my blogs is a blogging tips blog doing that does generate targeted traffic to that blog. -
@tt ... why do you keep copies of all threads of the past couple weeks?
I know that I personally have caught many screen images of various members - including yourself (and myself) - with edited comments - ... but as soon as time's up - well, it doesn't really matter what the first version was in my books - it's the final version that remains that count. -
I have problems with my vision. For example I have to get up and stand 2 feet behind my chair with a hand over my left eye to read this. I have a set up for taking copies and I can use it for my contracted work or for my blogging or for any other site. I chose to take copies of threads that I thought may become contentious. I continued to take copies until the threads were either deleted or locked.
BTW I do have some good news. The damage to my optic nerve is healing. It's a slow process but it is healing. -
SIGH ... we're off-topic. My eyes are NOT the problem per say and I do have glasses but they cannot do anything about the twitching wriggling optic nerve that distorts and interferes with vision in my left eye. The optic nerve damage is the problem. I suffered a head injury, skull fracture, moderate concussion and optic nerve damage when I fell off my deck and down 2 stories to the ground last summer.

@tt .. a few posts about Computer Vision Syndrome (from BFH site)
battlingforhealth.com/2008/01/computer-vision-syndrome/
battlingforhealth.com/2009/03/computer-work-and-computer-vision-syndrome/
@irate .. How much does a post usually take for you? From having the idea to clicking "publish"
For me personally, it would depend on the type of post. If it's for amusement purposes, it shouldn't take longer than 2 minutes. If it's for training purposes .. (tutorials, or recap what I did) it takes longer to jot things down and probably for me - can take up to 2-3 hours to be sure I have it right. If it's for education purposes or, trying to argue a point .. sometimes those type of posts can take all day, or bits and pieces of my time over many days researching semi-facts, disproving other people's facts or just plain seeing if that type of post of mine may be overdone a gazillion times before .. // regardless .. most of the time is in the development stage isn't it? I'm a fast typer and always type inside wordpress - not some 3rd party word processor.

I wish I could help, but I took a blogging break when my husband came back. Now that he left, I'm blogging again. Maybe I could ship him to you for inspiration.
-
Since your inspiration resurrected ten hours after posting this thread I'm writing this to congratulate you.
-
I have to take a break sometimes as I usually post twice a day to my blog. Sometimes when I'm blocked I just share a video that I particularly like.
Also, when I've had enough of politics, I do a how to post on Firefox options some people don't know about or about malware problems, etc. -
Right about your block,right about what makes u tick.If you use writing lilke I do just start. U don't have to post it. Privatize it edit it its your blog
-
Yeah, I've done that before as well. I'll write stuff, let it sit and not publish and reread it some other time to see if I wish to post it. If I'm totally blank, I usually just keep going about the day and there always seems to be something that comes up that's worth talking about (at least to myself).
Perusing through websites, news and such also help since more often than not, there is some article that I have an opinion about. That opinion/thoughts that arise usually make it as another post.

If this ever happens again, take it from Daniel and me that eating lots of ice cream will help you concentrate. Also hamburgers can help. When your tummy is full, think back on the first time you recall eating this sometimes messy sandwich, your little hands marked with the drizzle of watery mayonnaise mixed with the juice of the tomato. Oops! Some of the lettuce slipped out and fell onto your shoe. Nope, you cannot pick it up and shove it back in between the bread. Everyone would notice, plus it might have germs on it.
But ... you get the point. Get in touch with your feminine side.
