This isn't really a shameless promotion since I am proud of my friends.
My partner and I do volunteer IT work for a local Philadelphia non-profit called Career Wardrobe that helps low income women or womeon coming off welfare build a decent professional wardrobe so they can dress appropriately for job interviews and for work if they get the job. They also do a lot of work coaching these women on how to present themselves and their resumes for job interviews. Its a great thing.
Well, they are part of a larger nationwide organization that does the same kind of stuff called The Women's Alliance.
A group of generous donors has put together a fund raiser for them. They are auctioning off a custom Harley Tigertail to raise money to help these organizations that help women.
If you have room or the inclination, please consider posting information about this fund raiser on your blog. The info is at: blog.techfun.org/one-in-a-million. Please do not feel obliged to link to my blog entry. Links directly to www.youreoneinamillion.org would be great too. Anything to get the word out so we can help them raise their one million dollars, one dollar at a time.
I would especially appreciate links to their site from blogs that specialize in women's issues as those reader might be especially inclined to give these women trying to become self sufficient a helping hand.

I don't have a relevant blog, but I added a link to the organization to my tumblelog, since I think a couple readers there might click.

Yay for BlogCatalog!
I just looked at the stats and so far over 40 people have visited blog.techfun.org/one-in-a-million from BC. I don;'t know how many people will link to the fund raiser, but just the fact that people are taking the time to look at something thats not going to earn anyone any pocket money is refreshing.-
I've got a few relevant places to add it and will, but I'd also like to invite you to leave a link on our Divorce forums at forum.totaldivorce.com - there is a section on rebuilding finances after divorce where your post would be relevant. I don't have specific stats for the forum, but the site as a whole has several thousand visitors a day so I'd like to think you might find some good traffic there.
