    Be careful about smtg:
    "Hell is full of musical amateurs" G.Bernard Shaw
    1. siralmo
      these artists need to be credible... they need to atleast sound good and have accessible info about them, and contract is definately a plus and it doesn't just have to be new music
    2. siralmo
      hahaha that is awesome, i love it
  3. audiofish
    stephen long
    fort minor

  4. partybluprints

    1. siralmo
      that one would have to be a special post
  5. dosox
    Don't forget Bee Gees, Bob Dylan & my Coldplay.
  6. audiofish
    q is the name of a rap artist. Basically go to slicethepie.com and you can listen to loads of unsigned acts. Obviously some stuff is crap but click on the invest tab and you'll be taken to the most popular bands on the site.

    Sixties child has a geat song called "karaoke kid" and q, edward bell and stephen long are worth checking out.
    Also try alessis ark in google.
    Type "new band of the day guardian" into google and you'll get a site with fresh music.

    Source links: www.mentomusic.com/WhatIsMento.htm
    What is mento? Here's a short answer: It's a Jamaican music that is largely unknown outside of that is the grandpappy of reggae. For a ska or reggae fan, mento sounds familiar and exotic and unfamiliar. Mento recordings are difficult to come by, but worth seeking out. It's music that lifts my spirits and relaxes my mind whenever I hear it.

    If I were to make a list it would be miles long. I'm wondering if simply clicking on the lastfm accounts links of them BC members who are also lastfm members wouldn't be a good way of doing this. If so then you will find my lastfm link on my BC profile page by clicking first on my BC username.
    1. siralmo
      thats the idea
  17. acousticguitarist
    What do you want exactly?

    I know a little bit about music
    1. acousticguitarist
      almo, if you can define exactly what you want to do with it, who you are targeting. I'm a walking database of music, the clearer you can be, the easier it will be .

      E,g. A person that likes Britney wouldn't visit a Rage Against the Machine site etc.
    2. siralmo
      the idea is not to be specfic,

      some people are giving me an artist, a list of artists is a good option , some people are just listing specific songs

      as many or as few as you like
    3. acousticguitarist
      pick a style for me to recommend
    4. siralmo
      that defeats the purpose of the thread

      for example i would expect to see a list like

      red hot chili peppers
      foo fighters
      jack johnson
      silverchair
      mucsles
      daftpunk
      dizzy rascle
      bach
      mozart
      rachmaninov
      ravel
      tchaikovski
      elvis
      the beetles
      the monkeys
      alicia keys
      billy joel
      ...... ect...

    I do a thing on my music blog, echoisaacashe.blogspot.com, called Classic Collection, which is designed to highlight albums that are either by obscure artists or are albums by well-known bands that I feel are underrated - basically that deserve a little more credit than I feel they get.
    So far I have included the following - if any of those float your boat.
    Of course, I have more in the pipeline...

    * Bear Vs Shark - Right Now You're In The Best Of Hands
    * Beck - Odelay!
    * Ben Folds Five - Whatever And Ever Amen
    * Bobby Previte - The Coalition Of The Willing
    * Darc Mind - Symptomatic Of A Greater Ill
    * Demon Fuzz - Afreaka!
    * Eagles Of Death Metal - Peace Love Death Metal
    * Funkadelic - Maggot Brain
    * Glassjaw - Worship And Tribute
    * Gravediggaz - Six Feet Deep
    * Head Automatica - Decadance
    * Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters
    * Idlewild - 100 Broken Windows
    * Jason Mraz - Waiting For My Rocket To Come
    * Jeff Buckley - Grace
    * Kid Loco - A Grand Love Story
    * Kraftwerk - Computer World
    * Longpigs - The Sun Is Often Out
    * Los Lobos - Colossal Head
    * Marilyn Manson - Smells Like Children
    * Meco - Star Wars And Other Galactic Funk
    * Michael Jackson - Bad
    * Midfield General - Generalisation
    * Our Lady Peace - Naveed

    Hi!
    de.youtube.com/watch?v=a-uAxvjWzVU this is a polsh group called Sistars (r'n'b). Obviously I recommend them because I'm Polish myself, but they are good, even if you're not a fan of the genre.
    Patti Yang (trip hop rock) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pati_Yang
    de.youtube.com/watch?v=28sAsvzMW6s

    There, I don't recommend other POlish groups, because no-one would understand the lyrics, so what's the point.

    Also check out Miss Platinum, I don't know what the story is with her, but she makes me laugh
    de.youtube.com/watch?v=hbMrIiTfZYk&feature=related

    This is definetely something you've never heard before!
    1. siralmo
      hahahaaha she is from germeny, but she is speaking portuguese to begin with ^^ . that is one of those songs that you dont like at first but grows on you

      other languages accepted other wise im am denying a shitload of music
  20. voodooKobra
    Stop spamming other discussions with a link to this thread.
    1. siralmo
      what!? LOL

      i take it you're not a music fan then
    2. voodooKobra
      I'm just easily annoyed.
    3. siralmo
      so then why can't take the time it took you to complain, and add maybe one song or artist to the list rather than bitching about it, it would take much less effort
    4. voodooKobra
      That you want me and other people to contribute is the reason for your spamming. Why would I give in? Bad idea.
    5. siralmo
      it was hardly spamming, infact if i were to call it spamming, it would it would be the most piss poor example of spamming i have ever seen. why would you give in?? "give in"?? this isn't a struggle between good and evil, you make it sound like you are going to die if you mention one artist
    6. voodooKobra
      No, but it would contradict my spiteful behavior.
    7. siralmo
      ahh, indeed, carry on...
  21. 2greenbottles

    Big music freak and it would take all year for me to give a list so I will direct you to another discussion as you can see I like music a lot. www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/lets-talk-music
    1. siralmo
      thank you very much, i will look through it, but it actually make things a lot harder for me, any suggestions you're able to put down here are much appreciated
    2. legbamel
      How does that make this harder for you? By adding a click? Between the two threads you've got enough recommendations to keep you busy for a year, if you listen to a few songs from each artist. You must have your own favorites to recommend as well, or why would you bother with a music blog in the first place?! A couple of searches of the forum and some quality time on LastFM with folks who've posted here will probably yield you another 200 bands to try, if not many more. C'mon, put in a little effort!
