Just received a message my blog was declined membership. Confused. Since I have been a member in good standing these three months, very active and present in discussions, and been getting good traffic and responses. Can anyone explain?

probably admin error. The same thing happened to me once but I just sent them an email and it was accepted again

For me also, my 2nd blog was declined initially. I replied back to BC team, explaining my blog's subject (hobby blog) and resubmitted the blog. Their support looked into it, and it got approved within a few days.
Which of your blogs was declined? Reply back to them.
The reasons stated by BC for declining a blog are:
1. We could not verify ownership of your blog.
A link back, widget or meta-tag is required to verify site ownership. visit: www.blogcatalog.com/buttons for more information.
2. The URL you submitted is not a blog.
3. The URL you submitted is solely for commercial purposes, or is suspected to be spam.
4. Your blog is brand new and/or doesn't have enough content to make it truly valuable.
If this is the case, please resubmit after you have made more postings.
5. Your blog contains pornographic material.
6. At the time of review your blog was unavailable or there was a typo in your submission URL.
Please make sure the URL submitted is correct and accessible -
I don't believe my blog falls into any of those categories. I have only one post so far, but it's drawn good attention, has (I think) good content, so I've let it sit awhile so a wide range of people could get to know me and my basic style.

@ThriftShop - I had 3 posts when BC approved my blog, so I don't think there's a minimum. I could be wrong, though.

I find it strange they allow blogs with only three posts considering how many blogs are abandoned every month.

I agree. This may sound harsh to some members but I've been around awhile, granted not as long as you have Cooper
Most blogs founded in any year are history before they reach their first anniversary. We are witnessing a huge influx of new blogs into the blogosphere. Many have been cobbled together by newcomers who think they will make a living from scraped, stolen and/or plagiarized content.
The ignorance that pervades the blogosphere when it comes to legal issues including copyright law and libel is profound. The opportunism fired up by economic desperation and unrealistic claims with regard to being able to make a living or even a fortune from blogging is pervasive.
I think that in the case of submitting a first blog for BC approval that 20 - 25 posts is reasonable number. That size of a blog provided Admin with an opportunity to view a body of work and ascertain quality. And, in the case of an existing BC member in good standing submitting additional blogs then IMO 10 - 12 posts out to be sufficient body of work for Admin to view to ascertain quality.
